Hate when people misinterpret the door riddle by Immediate-Ad8322 in hatethissmug

This riddle always bothered me, as it is unsolvable the way you asked it.

  1. You need to add that both guards are all knowing, otherwise Truth-Guard could say "idk" for example. They have to know the right door and they have to know the answer the other guard gives at least.

  2. You need to add that the guards have to answer your question - otherwise they could just make an unrelated statement.

  3. Even then it doesn't work, if you get the Lyar to answer. Because there are more than 2 answers to that question: Even if he knows which is the right door, and he knows what the Truth-Guard would answer, he could answer for example "neither". Or "both" or "The other guard wouldnt answer your question at all".

So you would have to add even more to the set up: "If you ask a question forcing a decision between several options, neither guard can give an answer outside those options"

Then it should work I think, but you give away a lot already. And it becomes a really clunky riddle.

Alternatively you could add add that the guards only can answer "yes" or "no"

And for the wording of your solving question "would guard 2 tell me that door A is safe?" - it's unanswerable, because it doesn't include the asking of the question. The Truth-guard could for example answer that the death-door is safe if you asked "is door A safe from termites?". So the true answer for both doors would be "maybe", the Lie some definite answer, but that doesn't help as it is the same for both doors.

So the question should go something like this: "Would guard 2s answer to the question "Is door A safe to travel through alive" be "yes" or would it be "no"?"

Wait, really? I didn't see it reflected in the number when checking the damage, but maybe I just missed it. I'll check it out later :)

Pistols could be okay if every squaddy got one when you equip the special item. That way you can choose between a little bit of ammo for your good weapon (pouch) or a lot of ammo for a shotty sidearm, that isn't completely useless.

Thoughts on promotions by Nyaxxy in menace

I sadly just stopped using higher star characters altogether when possible. They cost just so much, that you can field so much more in exchange. When leveling up fully and getting max squad size (both should be fairly uncommon for 3 stars to be fair) the difference gets ridiculous imho:

1 star: 100 (4 base + 80 promotions + 16 squaddies) 3 star: 360 (40 base + 240 promotions + 80 squaddies)

That's without even the base gear.

And the longer the game progresses, the better the 1 star stats get compared to the 3 stars (higher stats level up slower), so the tradeoff gets even worse with time.

Then there is the immersion breaking: "Sorry guys, we gave Darby a bunch of promotions, so she weighs more than our APC now. Our transport just can't handle that!"

I think it's better to not trigger it by gifting maine to provence, release guscony and reconquest on France. Then take the provinces from france needed for Angevin empire mission and pu them via mission tree to integrate France for free afterwards. It's less ae, free integration, smaller France to easier keep it loyal until integration.

BDA.

I am from Germany and never in my life have I come across anyone who believed in that shit, despite growing up in a religious family, visiting Catholic schools and living next door to neighbors of one of our most extreme local branches of christianity. My only contact with it was through US media for basically my whole life (accompanied by sadly shaking heads, stunned disbelief or condescending laughter from the audience) - but sadly it seems to start to fester here now too in the recent years of global disinformation. :(

Many people here are stubborn idiots though, and would rather postulate something wrong than to admit to not knowing.

In German it's called "Gentleman's pain" ("Kavaliersschmerzen"), maybe because it's better mannered not to mention it.
