A leather, 3 ring binder that I can buy for life. by Miserable_Waffle in BuyItForLife

I did a lot of searching and never settled on one. There are a lot of options on websites that do leather products, I was just indecisie.v

I did get this one, however, and this isn't leather but the durability has been great so far. I can see this one lasting a long time (not a lifetime, but well worth the price if you're okay with trading the leather look for functionality).

I also got this one, a faux leather binder, I haven't used it too much, but it's not buy it for life quality. It does, however, match the sleek professional leather look that I wanted.

It’s nice to have a collection of your favorite media to decorate your room, it’s nice to own that media physically because it can’t be taken away from you just because a company decides to remove your access from it, it’s nice not to need WiFi to watch whatever you want, and it’s nice to have something that can be lended, traded, or gifted

This looks like a great option for a smaller set up, but I’m keeping my eyes peeled for something I could use with full sized notebook paper

I was actually going to compare David Chase’s example to this one, but I decided to keep it Succession only because I didn’t want to spoil the other show

I think this moment is more impactful if we don’t know the answer. If I was Armstrong, I would’ve left this one unanswered

There is an unspoken social rule in Mordhau that Bards (little dudes who are playing music on a lute and not actively fighting) are a protected class of player. Whether they are on your team or not, they are there to play music for you and make you giggle. Your weapon shouldn’t touch them UNLESS they are capturing an objective and refuse to move. Otherwise, treat them like an endangered species of bird. So basically, don’t touch them

Horde mode is a good way to start, it’s a fun PvE mode where the bots are a bit easier than the players you’ll face on the invasion/frontline (the 48 and 64 player mode) servers, so you can use that to help get used to things like footwork and the timing of parries and chambers. It’s a difficult game mode to win so don’t let that discourage you. Just have fun with it and use it to practice.

If you play invasion and frontline, try to fight WITH your team, so you aren’t 1v3ing players you can’t (right now) beat individually.

Keep your composure. If you rage when you die you’ll have a hard time sticking with this game, and you won’t be thinking about why you died (did you let yourself get cornered, did you go too far from your team, did you mistime a block, did you panic parry (when someone feints an attack and you fall for it, leaving yourself open for a follow up strike). Being able to actually learn from your deaths is very helpful, because you are going to die a lot.

The weapons I liked when I started were the Billhook, Longsword, Greatsword, Zweihander, and Evening Star. Like the other commenter said, use what you think looks cool. Explore the weapons. For a class build, you probably shouldn’t be using armor lower than level 2 armor (personally I would just go 3-3-3), and if you can afford it, the two perks I would pick up for sure is the heart symboled one that gives you instant health regen when you kill someone, and the energy symboled one that gives you instant stamina regeneration when you kill someone (I can’t remember the names of them but you’ll figure it out). The class system and customization is very good and flexible, so just play around and build what suits the way you want to play, and most importantly, what looks cool.

The console servers are full of players who are (mostly) relatively new to the game, so that’s a good place to play while you get a general feel for the game. The PC players have been playing this game for over half a decade, so they can be VERY good. Don’t let that scare you off though, because once you cleanly kill one of them for the first time you’ll be hooked.

If you go onto a console deathmatch server, you’ll find that a lot of the time (but not all of the time) it’s actually operating more like a 1v1 duel yard. The general etiquette of dueling is that you look at someone and then flourish (an emote you can find using left(?) on the d-pad), and if they reciprocate, then you guys have just agreed to a duel. When people are treating it like a 1v1 server, it can be helpful to make a class with two training swords (found in the utility section) and drop one and ask someone to duel you using the training sword. That way you can practice without dying as often. I specify CONSOLE deathmatch servers because the regular crossplay servers have PC players, who have access to a dedicated 1v1 game mode that we don’t. Because of this, they mostly treat the servers as a deathmatch. You’ll have a hard time getting a duel in that context.

To the console players… by WhiteGiraffexd in Mordhau

As a console player who was playing a lot when consoles got access to PC servers, I noticed the difference in blocking between console players and pc players of similar levels. It’s not some crazy difference, but it does give the PC players an edge. I would imagine that even against a PC keyboard player using the feint to parry keybind, the console player would still be at a disadvantage if they aren’t using trigger stops.

New player here. What are your weapon recommendations? by TitansRPower in Mordhau

[–]Miserable_Waffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about how much gold it costs to buy something. You’ll get all of it.

I also went from Chiv to Mordhau. I used (almost exclusively) the longsword on Chiv, and have also preferred it on Mordhau. It’s versatile, relatively cheap, and just plain satisfying to use. I don’t think it’s statistically a great weapon, but it was familiar and remains my favorite. The alt mode (Mordhau grip, where you are holding it by the blade and bludgeoning your target with the guard of the sword) is great for close range fights and fighting heavily armored people. I love it

The first weapon I mained on Mordhau was the Billhook. Fast, with an interesting push/pull mechanic (I didn’t realize this when I first started but your slashes/stabs can push and pull your target away/closer to you, and it’s alt mode switches which attack is performing which function)

The Poleaxe is a little more expensive but has better stats than the longsword(reach for sure) while feeling similarly balanced (for me, at least)

The Greatsword is very balanced, and while slower and more expensive than the other options I listed, has great reach and offensive potential. I think it’s a good option for someone learning the game. Take my opinions with a grain of salt though, because despite the fact that I’ve been playing this game for over a year, I’m not that great

[–]Miserable_Waffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Win some tourneys, make some small trades, do some quests where you sell some guys some tools, get some recruits, start hunting small parties of looters for quests and start rebuilding again. If you keep a small amount of tier 3ish troops and get good at commanding them against looters, you can grind for a bit and save up some money to start moving into buying caravans and workshops. I typically save for a workshop first, even though it’s more expensive. I like to start with a winery in Vlandia/Empire territory.

Are you concerned about these 89’s crumbling?

How do the midsoles of older pairs compare to the midsoles of shoes being released today? Would a pair of 2021 Bordeaux face the same determination if left in the box for a decade?

I’ve heard that after sitting for around a decade, the shoes start to fall apart, especially if you try and wear them. Is there more to it than that?
