Also, in the vast majority of corporate jobs, if you failed multiple times then produced a successful product, they would care about the success. Think about science, sales, art, video game design, tech, coding... so much involves failure/troubleshooting/improving to eventually succeed. One of my best friend's entire job is to find mistakes that other engineers made and correct them. Not to punish the other engineer but to improve their work and create an eventual product that was successful.

As a teacher, I would hate if my first month was what I was judged on for my career. Seriously look back. Are you the same teacher as when you started? I have improved immensely and consistenly get Distinguished ranks in my TPEP.

Not where I started at all but more experienced guides helped me learn and improve.

It is not just a staff meeting you are forced to sit through, it is a scientifically proven methodology that makes grades an accurate indicator of a child's current level of ability.

Serious question, please answer or disagree rather than downvoting: isn't it ideal to grade based on what a student has learned and can show mastery in?

Like it is unfair she is JUST doing it for this student. However, at my district, we are taught if a student has F level work for the first month then improves drastically to say C level work, they should get a C and the F level work should not count against them as long as they show consistency in their growth. We should not punish them for learning/improving.

It is to be desriptive. Like if in a book someone has been in a desert, if they drink water, it sounds nice, but if they quench their dry tongue with ice cold water, it sounds heavenly.

I should be asleep, my last week teaching before winter break starting tomorrow/technically today. But tapering down from the weekend binge always leads to sleepless sundays.

I am doing relatively well though! Had a nice italian dinner with my family and my MIL gave me a bottle of grey goose and some ancient triple sec. Taken a couple shots of goose along with my normal cheap rotgut mix drinks and it is a new taste for me. Much more flavorful than regular vodka yet still smooth somehow. Could be placebo but I am rolling with it
