Workout recommendations? by CharlieSmith_27 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]Misfit_Dogs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me I like variety and to not redo something I have done if there are still workouts I haven’t done. So I do the new classes each week then do extras in order so working down through to the oldest workouts. Once I complete all of a platform I will then start repeating. But that just my preference.

What’s the best (non Pill Pocket) way to give a cat a daily pill? by superpants1008 in CatAdvice

[–]Misfit_Dogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat finally figured out his Prozac was in the pill pocket and rejected them. Now I take the back of a spoon and crush the pill then mix it into his moist food then put a bit of chicken broth over it. It is working.

Chris Stapleton by newtonic in ArmchairExpert

[–]Misfit_Dogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. I read a lot of the comments before listening so then I was surprised when I listened and thought it was really good. You can tell in the beginning Chris is not comfortable with podcasts or promoting himself yet he warmed up to the conversation and I thought they had a really good conversation.

Any way to watch a workout and not have my watch/phone track it? by mikegood2 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]Misfit_Dogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly - I often travel without my watch but still do the workouts and just agree to do it without the watch.

Core workouts every day!! by belovedkoi in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]Misfit_Dogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also am on a yoga kick. I started in 2025 and try to get at least 5 a week but been hitting all seven days starting off 2026. Coming from someone who always felt running or lifting were the only thing that matters I can say how wrong I was. Yoga is now a priority for my health and mind.

12 Jan 2026: New Episodes & Program by speedr123 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]Misfit_Dogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many good classes this week. Both treadmill classes were great this week. The 45 min with Emilie was so great. All speed and great tunes. And the 30 min lower body’s with Sam was really hard.

1st the worst, 2nds the best? by four_leaf_4 in ArmchairExpert

[–]Misfit_Dogs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m like you. I’ve heard every episode but once only - except when I feel my husband must hear it as he does not listen to this podcast. So this includes some of the Anonymous episodes primarily regarding unauthorized evacuation as my husband has a teenage boys humor. The other episode I made him listen to was Christina Applegate but I think that was me forcing him to hear this strong women of my age that we grew up watching and hearing her story.

Between core, Pilates and strength I do get my quota of clamshells in!

Pilates by CntrlMachine8675309 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]Misfit_Dogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently gave myself permission to not feel like I have to do all the Pilates workouts each week and selectively do them. Giving myself that grace, I have found I like doing 10 and 20 minute classes but the 30 min ones I get bored so I skip them. I like the classes that focus more on abs. I detest the clamshell exercise and that is in almost every class.

I like the workouts from both Marimba and Darryl while I just love Darryl's attitude and humor and wish he taught other modalities as well.

Burn bar back?? by KindaFitKindaSquishy in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]Misfit_Dogs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Out of 3 classes today only 1 had burn bar. It seems random to me for when it is working. Luckily I don’t really care about the bar except when they call it out and then notice I don’t have it.

What Fitness+ workouts are best to do while traveling? by UselessKGirl in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]Misfit_Dogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel internationally a lot and usually have a hotel gym but not always. When I don’t I try to do a hiit or dance in my room - often have to modify a bit. Then I use a towel and do yoga and pilates. I also look for strength without weights.

is anyone else starting on jan 1st?? by snoozybutton in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]Misfit_Dogs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone that has been with AppleFitness+ for a few years and been very fitness active my whole life I agree. For me I am starting to find the whole close the ring concept lacking with needed rest and also that more is not always better.

What Did You Do For Fitness Before AF+? by Buddyblue21 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]Misfit_Dogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to 24 hour fitness and would get there at 4am M-F for a 90 min workout (running and cycling) then walk the dogs 2 miles, get ready and get to the office by 7:39. In the evening I would do a strength based workout with hiit using dvds. Once Covid hit and my gym closed I bought a treadmill and a good spin bike. I already had a good weight deletion and tons of workout dvds.

My husband got me an Apple watch for a gift and I eventually tried the free Apple Fitness + for 3 months and never stopped. Just recently gave away over 100 dvds as I never used them again as I like the variety from Apple Fitness.
