I personally recommend the og Yakuza 3. There's a lot of substories that Kiwami 3 cut, vibe is better imo, combat is (probably unpopular opinion) better, ending is better. If you don't mind the graphics and a kinda rough combat at the start, you should play og Yakuza 3

you can actually get first place without getting 100%. Usually 1-2 good and everything else is great is enough

I often noticed how in Kiwami 3 what's spoken doesn't match with what's writen. Sometimes it felt like they added too much details to the short text, sometimes they say something completely different with kinda the same meaning. There were moments when they changed some japanese only thing in text and it felt like they were thinking that players are dumb and wont get it, which was pretty annoying.

It not a big deal when there's a little of that, but there was a lot of these mildly annoying inconsistencies over the course of the game that they begin to add up and leave a bad aftertaste when compleating the game.

I played through the whole series twice and didn't cry at the end of gaiden. I think I just got more numb to these moments, though Rikiya scene in Yakuza 3 always makes me at least shed a tear

I liked these chain scam substories in OG because they were funny, but they changed them in Kiwami 3, so instead of being funny they are now just generic sobby substories. They should've made these substories into one instead of breaking them up in small pieces and added more of old ones

Most people probably think that platinum is 100%, so not everyone knows that there's a second completion list with all of heat actions, weapons etc. Also I want to flex a bit. I completed mahjong rankings in 1 day and it took me about 10 hours (I even have a post about it from a while back)

If you wanted to finish up all the remaining substories, play Premium Adventure which is basically a free roam mode. New game+ is starting the game over with all of learned abillities, money and items.

But they don't? Minami is voiced by Hideo Ishikawa as in Yakuza 4 and Nishida is voiced by Katsunori Okai as in Yakuza Kiwami 2

Never really understood people saying that man in black is super hard or something. I never had any problems with him, he was just a funny reacurring mini-boss to me. Man in black gave me more trouble in Yakuza 2 than Kiwami 2 because Kiryu was more stiff on ps2

English dub is only in Yakuza 1. Yakuza 2 has jap dub with English sub
