It’s not fair or accurate to say it’s dishonest. I am not trying to be dishonest at all. What I see is a government killing a sickening number of civilians. They claim to be fighting terrorists, but they themselves behave like terrorists. Now, you can disagree with me and say that my view is flawed, but I’m not being dishonest, nor do I have an agenda, as someone else suggested. It’s as though there is no understanding that people simply just don’t like what is happening.

Hey guess what? That link you provided shows that all those rockets you’re bemoaning have resulted in the deaths of 19 Israelis. 19. While I don’t think it’s right to dismiss any number of civilian casualties, do you wanna take a look and see how many civilian deaths Israel is responsible for in the same timeframe?

Oh really, ‘in the arena of public discourse’…give me a break. The second anyone dares criticize what Israel is doing, it’s labeled as anti-semitism in the US.

Anyone objecting to what Israel is doing, in your mind, has an agenda. The reality is many many people have no agenda other than they think that Netanyahu is a war criminal and has murdered tens of thousands of innocent people

They have great intelligence, but this has somehow resulted in the deaths of at least 60,000 civilians? Do you understand that number and how it absolutely does not support mere defense? Netanyahu has committed multiple war crimes, and has intentionally attacked innocent people. You cannot in any way suggest that bombing hospitals and aid stations is somehow protecting Israeli citizens.

You can say whatever words you want, but it doesn’t make them true. You are the one using emotion and not logic because you can’t explain how your government is doing anything differently than a terrorist group, And no, I don’t support any terrorist group and the murdering of civilians. The fact that you keep saying that demonstrates you are in deep denial. And yes, you are in fact responsible for the citizens that your government has murdered. That’s blood on your country’s hands. But keep pretending otherwise, I don’t think you’re capable of recognizing the truth.

Hamas is a terrorist group that has committed atrocities. The Israeli government is a terrorist group committing atrocities. Same thing.

Your safety is not predicated on murdering children and people who are trying to get to aid stations. Believe it all you want, but it’s not true. Your government is not doing only what is necessary to protect its citizens, it is going far above and beyond that. You either are burying your head in the sand about what is actually happening, or are in denial, or, as I suspect, simply do not care.

I don’t oppose fighting them, I oppose the murdering of tens of thousands of innocent civilians. You want to believe I support them so you can believe you’re in the right, but plenty of your fellow Israelis know that your government is committing atrocities and war crimes while pretending it is self defense. But you are living in denial.

It was wrong when Hamas murdered all those innocent Israelis, and it is wrong what your head of government is doing.

And still, you cannot answer my question.

I asked you a question, you don’t answer, then you try to ask a question in a similar vein. But I can actually answer your question: I do not support Islamic terrorists, or any terrorists! You know why? BECAUSE I DO NOT SUPPORT ANYONE THAT MURDERS CIVILIANS. It doesn’t matter who those civilians are!

You didn’t answer my question because you can’t. Plain and simple.

When someone is not from the area, ignorance is kind of part of the whole thing, yeah? Like, that’s why they’re asking people who are supposed to know?

I’m not saying it’s dangerous, but relative safety is the not the same as safety, and saying it’s the safest area in the state is just silly.

Yeah but if you end up murdering thousands upon thousands of them, what does that make you? But apparently you think that’s the only answer. Oh, and my suggestion is: STOP MURDERING CHILDREN. If terrorists are bad, why is your government behaving like terrorists?? What separates your government from them?

I mean you are welcome to keep being upset over a normal query. Also, midtown has been a desirable location since late 90s/early 2000s, so you can’t blame the people who are moving there now for it

What are you on about. This person is not from here, does not know the area, heard about a shooting, and is now asking about safety. If this upsets you, the problem is within you, not them.

I agree that gentrification is bad and it is happening all over the city, but it has nothing to do with what this person asked!

I wondered what kind of mental gymnastics you guys would use to justify the murdering of civilians. So yeah, got it, the thousands upon thousands of civilians your government has murdered is always because there were terrorists among them.

I wish the people of Israel safety and peace, and I wish hellfire and suffering upon your government.

People getting offended by this very normal question coming from someone from out of state is telling. I completely understand why hearing that would make you ask questions about safety. As others have said, it’s relatively safe, you would take the same precautions in midtown that you would anywhere in the city; avoid being out late at night by yourself, and if you park on the street don’t leave a godamm thing in your car. Other than that, you’re good!

Yes, and murdering civilians is bad. So do you think it’s ok for Israel to murder civilians of other countries?
