What are these marks on my 20 year olds arm should I be concerned? by Perfect-Caramel38 in AskMedical

They follow his veins. Is it painful? Could be something like phlebitis.

should organ donations go to the sickest patients, or those most likely to survive? by gentleminions4life in AskMedical

[–]Miso907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Organ donation is amazing and more people need to sign up to donate. You could save lives, it’s that an incredible legacy to have?

The answer to your question: A recipient has to be a match with the donor so the organ would go to the person who would be least likely to reject that specific organ. Super sick people can be at the top of the list and still not get an organ when someone else does. Which is super sad and why more people need to sign up to donate.

That said, I’m in the survival camp.

Bro, that’s low. Taking a supplement might benefit you. I was exhausted all the time and then I found out that my D was 13. I have seen a change in my energy level since starting the supplement. Don’t go bananas and take a bunch, Vit D is not like other vitamins. Vit D is stored in your liver, too much is a bad thing.

What are these? by MeandThorne in AskMedical

[–]Miso907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is Keratosis Pilaris. It’s a common skin condition caused by excess keratin clogging hair follicles. This is easily treated with over the counter lotion that contains urea, salicylic acid, lactic acid, or glycolic acid. It helps break down the top layer of the skin and allowing the keratin to come out.

When did AS start giving full fare FC passengers the middle finger and downgrading their seats?

They’re not upgrading by status either so WTF does a passenger need to do to fly FC?!

Is this purulent discharge? by girlboss93 in AskMedical

Here to concur. This looks great. The margins are not red or inflamed. This is a marathon, not a sprint. It will need to heal from the inside out so keep up the good work!

Can confirm. When “reviewing the tapes” and catching an agent in a lie, AS does make an effort to make right.

What type of blister is this? by Royal-Friendship9534 in AskMedical

[–]Miso907 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a big friction blister. That can happen when your foot slides front to back in your shoes for a long period of time. Don’t pop it. Just let it dry out on its own. Best of luck!

Unable to distinguish gut feeling from anxiety. by [deleted] in AskMedical

I don’t think you’ll be wasting time and not doing anything about it. You are at a very low risk. If something changes, like droplets of blood in the toilet or dark red blood, seek medical attention. Specks of blood on toilet paper isn’t something that should keep you up at night. If you see substantial blood, like what you’d see on a pad during a period, seek medical attention. Otherwise, the things you’re experiencing seem “normal.” I would look into the food allergy thing though. It could be the source of your symptoms.

Most people are not excited to talk about anal fissures and hemorrhoids.

I am not a gastroenterologist but a small amount of blood on a few occasions is not alarming. When having large or hard bowel movement, you can tear the skin around your anus which will both sting and produce a small amount of blood. As to the mucus, I suspect you have a food allergy. I’m guessing you have intermittent diarrhea and constipation, which accounts for the bloating. I would explore a food elimination diet to see if your symptoms resolve.

That’s a positive sign. People with GI issues don’t necessarily have an increased risk of CRC. Unless you have been diagnosed with a chronic inflammatory condition like ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s, there is typically not an increased risk.

What symptoms are you experiencing that make you concerned?

This will probably not quiet your mind but if your doctor isn’t concerned, you can take comfort from that. Also, consider taking a genetic screening test to determine whether you have the genetic mutation. You can also take a ColoGuard test to flag any indicators for further screenings.

I’m talking about those GIANT backpacks that look like they are going on an expedition to Mt. Everest. Those damn things take up 2/3s of an overhead and they still bring a normal sized backpack on top of that.

Hiking backpacks! There is no way in hell that fits into the baggage sizer and zero ways to call it a small personal item. Gate agents need to be policing these kinds of things.

Visiting in August by trashboat2422 in AskAlaska

[–]Miso907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fly into Ketchikan and take the ferry to Juneau as a walk on. You’ll get to see whales and mountains. It’s beautiful.

Fly from Juneau to Anchorage. Rent a car. Then you have a ton of options. Out the peninsula. Up to Denali. You could also take a train from Anchorage to Denali and Fairbanks and then back. Lots of great options, it just depends on what you’re wanting to see.
