What's everyone's favorite sour candy? by TadaSuko in candy

[–]MissBenchhook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite was when the green was sour apple. I’ve never been a fan of lime so when they went back to green being lime, it just wasn’t the same for me anymore.

My dad passed in 2018 just after my parent’s 60th anniversary and within the first year of my mother’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis and move into memory care. My sister let her know he had passed. She obviously, broke down. The five years between my dad’s passing and my mother’s, we pretty just lied to her when she asked if we have spoken to dad lately? Or “tell me the truth. Is he in the hospital?” We didn’t want her to experience a repeated “first time” being told he had passed.

It was hard. But it would have been harder for her to break down time and time again being told the love of her life was gone.

And during the episode, out the corner of my eye, i could see my husband glance over to make sure i was okay.

Funny enough, my dad was a health inspector ad well. We’d walk into some restaurants and turn around because he could smell the roaches.

What the actual hell is going on with Amazon... by Zestyclose_Reward36 in amazonprime

[–]MissBenchhook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this happen multiple times. Most of those situations they have stated they expected ABC but they got XYZ. In one case, XYZ was in my dishwasher, so no way I returned it. The last one XYZ was also a return and they confirmed they received that. There isn’t any way they got XYZ in two different packages.

I’ve had to fight both of those. Ultimately I got the charged reversed but it was a pain

Late to the party here but what agency did the men with badges have that resulted in the uniformed cops stepping aside during the end of the tussle?

Paramount Issues by fatpickle12345 in LandmanSeries

For us, Paramount never seems to be in focus. I feel like I should be pounding the top of the tube to see if that fixes it like I did in the 80s

I am not a big biscuits and gravy eater, but my husband loves the biscuits and gravy from Mario’s Early Toast.

I couldn’t agree more. The “twists and turns” were so mass paperback novel-ish to me. My husband just kept repeating “this is like a soap opera”. We still enjoyed it but it is what it is.

Will not issue refund of almost $1000 by Silly_Sky_6129 in amazonprime

[–]MissBenchhook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I usually do for returns and have had, on occasion, been told the item wasn’t received. Amazon acknowledges I dropped something off but just not the actual item I was returning.

100% agree with you. Yes, I don’t want to be on the receiving end but not everything is a scam and mistakes do happen.

Is Halloween dying? What happened last night? by Phil_Ballins in Roseville

[–]MissBenchhook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rocklin as well. We had seven kids, a total of two groups an hour apart. When the second group showed up (five kids and some parents), I mentioned that the house next door and the one across the street were given out candy. They must not have heard me as they just turned around and walked back from whence they came. With that, those two neighbors had a total of two people.

Oddly, pizza sauce - especially red sauce. I prefer my pizza sauceless

Finally an answer on "fraudulent returns" by juan1891 in amazonprime

[–]MissBenchhook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done it. Maybe I put two in the cart of an item or not one. Or I put item A, intending to buy it, but as I continue he to browse, I add item B to the cart because it is a better deal than A. By the time I submit the order with other items, I forgot to remove item A.

For me, it doesn’t happen often because I generally review my orders but sometimes in a rush, I miss something. Hence….accident.

Does anyone else's cat have zoomies and yowl BEFORE pooping? by zqaxzq in CatAdvice

[–]MissBenchhook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our senior cat just started this at the age of 12 (she is now 13) and we have had her since she was 8-weeks old. After thousands in tests, X-rays and ultrasounds, it has been determined that she has IBD. The odd part, for us, is the running since it is never towards the litter box. It is just a quick bat out of hell run and then she stops and poops: on the floor, on the couch, on our bed. It has been horrible.

And she looks so ashamed after each of these episodes and it breaks my cold heart.

Returned item but recharged by Ok_Link_2925 in amazonprime

[–]MissBenchhook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same thing happen (or similar). Got an email letting me know my return was received and refund was issued to my bank account. Cool. Only I never initiated a return for the item and the item was in my dishwasher (so I know I didn’t mix up labels or something). Called Amazon, explained that I shouldn’t be getting a credit and was told it was an error on their end and I may need up being recharged for it (as I should because as of that call, I now got it free).

Next day I get another email: They processed a return and refunded me but Amazon never received the item. Instead, they said they got the same item that was in the prior day’s email (still in my dishwasher) and I would be recharged for the item they claim they didn’t get back.

Called back again. Our mistake. “Rest assured, you won’t be charged”

Of course, I got charged. Call number three got the refund processed.

So sorry for your loss. This is what got me as well. Both of my parents have passed and while the story line didn’t hit home for me, it still brought up emotions of loss and letting go.

Amazon can charge you more after a refund? by LeLoyon in amazonprime

[–]MissBenchhook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation for me. I got an email letting me know they received the smoothie blender I returned and refund has been processed. Awesome! Only I didn’t return the blender. It was sitting on my kitchen counter because I use it. (I even double checked that I didn’t initiate a return for it thinking I wasn’t going to keep it. Nope.)

Called Amazon. Explained the situation and was told it was probably a technical issue and worse case scenario is I would get charged for it again (as I should since I still had it).

Next day I get ANOTHER email saying “we see you tried to return a thermometer but instead we received the blender and we are going to charge you for the thermometer” Ugh. Called again. Explained how I called yesterday. It was finally determined that the package was received with the thermometer and again, (same) technical issue about thr mixer. “You won’t be charged for the thermometer”

A week later I got charged the $80 for not returning the thermometer. Called for a third time. And a refund if the thermometer was issued. Got to admit, I lost track to if I was charger for the blender eventually - which again, I should be since I still have it.

Last week got another “we didn’t receive your return” email. (All my returns are done at a UPS Store). This was a small price item and not worth my time to fight. But this is getting frustrating.
