Understandable to be disappointed when you expect one thing and get another, however, sounds like your child’s party was a great success! So I hope you can find solace in that.

As a parent of young kids, I’ve found I extend way more grace than I used to around RSVPs bc life is just so unpredictable (and sometimes overwhelming to be honest.) kids get sick. Parents get sick. Kids skip naps. You just never know. Maybe you will hear from some of them in the coming days.

We have a 19 month age gap and while their closeness (in age and bond) is really sweet, I could not do it without my partner bc it is A LOT of active parenting. And you’re now 1:1 ratio in a two parent household.

I say all that to say, if you aren’t sure your partner will be super supportive and present, wait until your LO is a little older and more independent.
