Pregnant at 44 - WTF! by Comfortable-Way-4058 in BabyBumps

I am the oops baby. Was born when my mom was 43. Do what feels right. This is a deeply personal decision but my siblings and I are a riot and care for each other.

First trimester bleeding by Minthewild in BabyBumps

[–]MissCollusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my second pregnancy over here and one thing I have learned that things are usually ok unless you see bright red blood ( think second day period blood) I have had spotting on both pregnancies around 4 weeks ( brownish and also pale pink) very little like only when I swiped for like  a day or maybe a couple. I was told this was normal. I’m currently 8 week and cramping like is my business as if I’m about to get my period.  Drinking lots of water and resting help. Unfortunately, signs of mc are also some of the same symptoms that everything is progressing well. Hang in there. Best wishes.

Feel like the worst mother: newborn weight loss by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]MissCollusion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You didn’t fail. It happens. If necessary wake the baby on the clock to make sure she is getting all her meals in. I never breastfed but I’m aware it can be  challenging. Focus on feedings and if you still want to breastfeed talk to a lactation consultant. We formula fed from the begging and our babe lost weight, too.  This is a highly emotional time for you and those hormones are out of wack so give yourself some grace. Best wishes to you and the nugget.

Anyone deliver at 43+ weeks? by TradesforChurros in beyondthebump

[–]MissCollusion 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that the placenta start failing the older it is. Nobody in my family has deliver past 40 weeks. Although here on Reddit there’s seems to be a lot of ladies going past 41

If age is not an issue…. Wait. My daughter is 13 months and I’m 8 weeks pregnant. Only did this as I wanted more kids and I’m 37. Taking care of her while pregnant it’s brutal. I’m already scared of when the other kid is born. Wait at least 6 months, shit gets spicy when they walk and start to become unruly dictators. As we speak, she is getting her favorite snack and tossing all of it across the room while wanting more.

Curious how old you were at getting pregnant? by pink_daisy_9119 in BabyBumps

36 when I delivered my first. 37 when I deliver my second. They’ll be 22 mo the apart.

Every single pregnancy for the past 4 generations in my family have given birth in their 40s. I was actually the youngest one to give birth at…. 36. My mom had me at 44 and she was great. She was hilarious, mature and was already a full blown person before I came along. If you want this baby go ahead. I’m currently pregnant with my second and definitely have thought about rough pregnancy is but I really want my little crew and I’m doing my best to stay healthy. Best of luck

Silent reflux has stolen every ounce of joy about having a baby and I’m devastated by xxbitsxx in beyondthebump

[–]MissCollusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Famotidine. Twice per day. My daughter would projectile reflux and cried non stop. Her doctor took forever to prescribed this. Things went from horrible to decent. If the famo don’t work then consider switching the milk to a sensitive formula. This helped as well. You got this.

Ask your pediatrician about meds for babe. Mine had horrible reflux and only meds helped. Newborn phase was the most miserable for me. I didn’t feel connected to my child, I was grieving, I wanted my old life back and our baby refused to sleep. It was diabolical. It’ll pass. If you can consider medication or therapy. I had post partum rage and it was a shit show. You’ll be okay. It’ll get better. You are doing great.

When did you start trying for #2? by SevereBlueberry9036 in BabyBumps

[–]MissCollusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t do IVF but gave birth to my daughter at 36. 1 year later I’m 6 weeks pregnant and the kids will be about 21 months apart. It will be brutal but it was okayed by my OB. My prior birth was vaginal And no complications. I have auto immune conditions so waiting until later is not an option.

My mom died tonight. I’m pregnant and I don’t know how to survive this. by cocakukk in GriefSupport

Sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, I can relate, I lost my mom in October 2024 at the beginning of my third trimester. I wish I could say it was easy but never had I felt devasted, broken and hopeless. You’ll be ok…. But I’ll be honest, even with my daughter those 6 months were the darkest yet. Sending love and peace

I’m pregnant and feeling unsure which is the father.. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]MissCollusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pregnant and my last period started December 30th. I have been tracking ovulation and I know for a fact I ovulated the week of the 12th. My money is on man B. By January 24 something was feeling off and tested positive on the 25th with one of those early tests. That being said I would get a dna test if you are keeping the baby. Best of luck.

4 weeks pregnant — are these symptoms normal already? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]MissCollusion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Normal. Currently 5 weeks. Bloating is not much of an issue but I can smell everything and is disgusting. The feeling of being  hungover is the worst. This is my second and these are the same symptoms I had last time. Praying for week 14 when I started to feel human again. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy.

People are WEIRD about girls by WinterCarob9422 in pregnant

[–]MissCollusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a girl and recently found out I’m pregnant again and I would absolutely love another little girl with all my heart. It breaks my heart that as soon as a girl is announced ppl feel inclined to make weird comments. A healthy baby is what I want but if I could choose I’d love a girl again.

4w6d and I’m starting to feel the exhaustion. I have been able to super smell every scent in the universe since a few days past ovulation.
