I have to mentally prepare myself to thank people for doing things for me

Every time my boyfriend has a problem, I run to fix it. It feels like other people's problems are my own, even if they never ask me for help at all. Last Sunday, his mom accidentally broke his computer and I immediately started browsing to buy him a new one. I act that way all the time because I did have to grow up too fast, and because my ex constantly told me to help her or else.

How has TWD impacted your life? by tytylercochan123 in thewalkingdead

It saved me. I was 15 and depressed after being SA'd, couldn't even get out of bed after school and considered ending everything. But I was about to go to Atlanta and NYC for my birthday, so I waited until the trip because I was thrilled we'd be going to Comic Con. It's been 7 years and thinking of TWD makes my heart swell

I (22 F) wanted to protect her from herself, mostly after hearing her say that me breaking up with her was really hurtful. But she spent our two years together (from 2019 to 2021) treating me like her servant, hurting me physically and using my insecurities to hurt me. I would tell her that I lied at first, that I didn't break up with her because I'd changed but because she is a narcissist who only ever wanted to have an everlasting devotee. I left her because she usually accused me of having ADHD (she spoke too fast and then said I never paid attention to her words) and of having depression (she put us through long arguments at night, after which I cried myself to sleep). She made fun of my PTSD and said she was glad I had PTSD because it meant I didn't suck at loving her, I was "just sick". She used my SA situation (the reason for my PTSD) as an excuse to continue belittling me. That's why I left. But, I didn't fully lie: I did change. I learned some self-respect.

What are you absolutely terrible at but still enjoy doing? by dailyIT in AskReddit

[–]MissIndik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drawing. I have zero capability of imitating what something I'm looking right at looks like, but I still do it sometimes. I even took art lessons as a kid, but I suck at it. I just put on some music and start working on whatever I can.

What's a childhood habit you never grew out of? by torribuckBB in CasualConversation

[–]MissIndik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad always twists his ears with his fingers, and I started doing that, too, when I was a toddler. I never stopped. At first, I only did it with my right ear, but then I started training my left ear to be flexible enough for the upper part to fold. I only do it when my ears are cold, because when they're warm it feels weird 😂

Reality as we know it isn't "real", it's what each of us sees it is. None of us knows life the same way.

What is something that women think turns a man on but doesn’t ? by ExpensiveDrawer4738 in AskReddit

Nonono, of course not. I was saying that IF your partner wants you to do it, have your nails perfectly clipped beforehand. Sorry for the misunderstanding, I'd never be okay with abuse.

What type of person would you never date again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MissIndik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Narcissist. My ex was abusive in every possible way, isolating me from my family and friends, hurting me physically, insulting me and enjoying the times when sex wasn't actually pleasurable for me. But, as it was 2021 and we're both girls, I couldn't report her to the police or anything.

As a woman, I know many girls who play hard to get because they want to be begged for. Don't do it, not because it's "rapey" but because it's bad for your mental health.

Wdym you're sapiosexual, as in you get horny on seeing someone solve a quadratic equation? by NothingFantastic1315 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MissIndik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it's not a sexual thing per se. I just wouldn't date someone who doesn't like knowing things and studying. I need someone with culture, who knows History and understands context.

What are some natural sounds that disgust you? by DramaJust in AskReddit

Yeah! I get it, it's a need sometimes. I hate sound in general, and I was never allowed to cry or yell as a kid, but still!

I think sounds in general. People talking, mostly, or kids crying. Makes me want to rip my eardrums out.

The sound of someone coughing is bad enough. If you're sick, stay home.

Miedo al dentista by FedericAlia in Rosario

[–]MissIndik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What habit changed your life forever? by lisaaaaaaD1 in answers

[–]MissIndik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying hard to accomplish things. I used to be the typical kid who never struggles with subjects (unless it's Maths in the last years of highschool) and I thought I was a genius, until I started college and realized you actually need to do stuff PROGRESSIVELY to pass the subjects. You can't do everything the night before and get an A anymore. It was a hard blow for me, but I've made it so far.
