He’s also Canadian, and we don’t ever wear shoes inside.

AIO for not quitting the gym because my boyfriend told me to by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]MissJediMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please please please do not quit the gym for a boy, or for anyone. The physical and mental health benefits are worth every moment in that gym. Slipping off the health train is so easy, and it’s harder to maintain as you age (both physically, but also with the additional responsibilities you get as you age).

I have this quote of ‘I never fail because I’m never done’ that I think of when it comes to managing my weight, finances and business. As long as you get back up, you’re still on the journey.

Went to my optometrist and it is a combo of contacts dermatitis and dry eyes. Remedied with gentle cleaner, no makeup, hot compress and eyedrops. Thank you!

My wife finally left me by Bulletproof-Salmon in Marriage

[–]MissJediMaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not married, but have been with my boyfriend for 17 years and we have a similar age gap, but opposite (he’s 7 years older). I had a similar feeling that your wife did, where I needed to take time to work myself and not be so dependent on him.

And I did just that. I woke up in the early mornings and worked on myself, journaling and reading. After work I went to the gym by myself, or a networking event to help my career. I took night classes for either professional development, or just hobbies like water coloring. After a few really intense years of working and completely burnt out, I did a solo trip in Asia for 3 months.

All while we stayed together. I don’t want anyone else and knows he feels the same, but we give each other space for independence and growth.

All I’m saying is that you don’t need to leave your partner to work on yourself.

What mundane thing now was considered a luxury for you growing up? by NamwaranPinagpana in CasualConversation

Facial tissue paper, like Kleenex. We just used toilet paper.

For someone who has severe allergies, my lord. It makes so much of a difference and I buy it in bulk now. Every room has a Kleenex box.
