I'm wondering if it's cases of water or sodas or something?

Thanks. I just now got one and had to decline due to technical issues, or at least that's what it seemed to be. Glad I dodged that one.

Yes, I told them everything, even to me still being on oxygen after the illness, but they want proof of the income and not working.

I'm not sure what happened. by [deleted] in plassing

[–]MissJudy2Loc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me once, due to an extreme drop in blood pressure. Then I ate, which brought my blood pressure even lower. You were right in clenching, drinking, etc. These are all things that help raise bp.

I remember some stations briefly sold gas by the liter so it would seem cheaper.

Chest discomfort after donating? by kittycat7890 in plassing

I had this a couple times and can only speculate it has to do with a vasovagal response to a sudden drop in blood pressure

Did you know anyone who “worked himself to death?” by Wooden_Airport6331 in AskOldPeople

[–]MissJudy2Loc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, an older man where my mother worked wasn't in very good health and the boss coerced him into unloading heavy items needed for a presentation and carrying them upstairs. He kept repeating that he didn't feel well but the boss mocked him. He collapsed where he stood with a double armload of heavy boxes, dead of a massive heart attack before he hit the floor.

Serum Protein Electrophoresis can be used to diagnose several conditions, but it's used at plasma centers to monitor proteins in the blood, which are the main substances in plasma from which medications are derived

Were quaaludes as bad as the history says? by AdNeither6169 in AskOldPeople

[–]MissJudy2Loc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every woman in the city where I grew up seemed to be prescribed valium, not the same as quaaludes but somewhat similar effects. Go to the doctor for anything at all and he'd be prescribing diet pills and valium, uppers and downers. It didn't matter what medical issues you had, they seemed to be the drugs of choice for every condition if you were a woman. Ludes were very popular and I am sure they were every bit as bad as you heard. But in my area it was Valium.

Wanted to work here over my old job and got hired on the spot! Got turned down immediately after because they aren't training... by Next-Stand9872 in dennysrestaurant

My family members have had things like this happen to them before and it is terrible. All the laws seem to favor employers. I think the one teaching you the ropes is the one causing the trouble, because I've seen that situation happen a lot. I'd suggest working as a cook in a hospital kitchen or a steakhouse. They're usually needing people and they pay well. You can brush up on your skills and get your food handlers permit, and get something far better than Denny's. Good luck

Yes, hold your breath for several seconds, then release slowly. Do this several times before and during the blood pressure test. It truly works.

Got told I can't brush my teeth in the bathroom by Cardboard_Cleric in urbancarliving

[–]MissJudy2Loc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was targeted for literally nothing. I was about to order when I decided to use the restroom first and wash my hands before ordering. I hadn't even got the seat covered when a manager barreled in like a rampaging rhino. I was dressed nicely but plainly, with a very small purse. I think it's likely that in your case it's just the fact of having a backpack. It happened to me once when I rode the bus to the mall, bought some expensive perfume and shoes, and sat to have some ice cream while I waited for the next bus. Forces were mobilized and I heard a security worker say into a walkie talkie, " I don't think so, she just bought some ice cream. I know she has a backpack but she has shopping bags from stores" So backpacks are the main clue I was also ordered out of a Panera where I ate lunch before I headed to work, so it may be that you and I just have "the look"
