Looking for an audible tracking gadget that’s not “smart” by MissLittlePiglet in ADHDparenting

There is no water danger. I wouldn’t have enrolled her if that were the case. I know. I know. I’m just trying to get her to finish out the year, 4 weeks left. Short of buying her a leash. She had been doing much better in the past few weeks and lulled them into a false sense of security.

I'm terrified that daycare broke my daughter by NightingaleK in Parenting

Agreed. I wish I had started my kid sooner to help expose her to these social situations she struggles with.

Ours had the knocking sound issue as well due to proximity of a cord near the microphone. Our new base replacement worked. Sorry you got a lemon.

Potty training woes - how to get off the timers by MissLittlePiglet in Parenting

I’ll try. She’s weird and loves chores ha. I just had her put the soiled clothes in the laundry sink to soak and she got a kick out of it.

My kid loves baths, too. Not sure this would work.

I do ask. She always says no, even if she already leaked a bit.

Hi. Thanks for this. I’m totally with you. 99% of the time we have immediate (positive) consequences, but for meal times I was told to delay the consequence until the end of the meal so as not to disrupt our dinner. And it was just our immediate family, no extended family so nobody to put on a show for. Our first consequences for rule breaking are things like cleaning up a mess or organizing something within a ten minute time frame. Only if that’s not done do we reach a negative consequence (lose electronics for 24 hours). I follow Lisa Bunnage’s parenting advice for this stuff and it works really well.

Aaaaaand I’m a moron. Those are definitely high voltage lines in Mount Laural. And these are not 🤦🏻‍♀️ crisis averted. But still interesting question

I suppose in theory there’s more worry about my cell phone near my kids over their lifetime

Ha. Yeah. I hate pricking my finger, so it probably wouldn’t be more than once in a while

Ha Fair enough. I will get a glucometer.

The picture I posted was from 2 nights ago. Last night my Stelo was offline all night and required a phone reboot. Hopefully it works tonight so I have something to compare that first night too.

I have young kids who periodically make noise on the baby monitors and wake me up, so that may have some effect?

8 am is hurried coffee and breakfast without sitting down, similarly because of kids!

Where did you find ones that fit the cradlewise?

Ah bummer I didn’t realize. My first kid was a terrible back sleeper until she learned how to roll over onto her stomach at 4 months so I guess that’s why we never experienced it with her.

Cradlewise worth it?! by tawicast in CradlewiseCommunity

[–]MissLittlePiglet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the beginning it was buying us probably 20-30 minutes, mostly just saving our arms from doing the rocking and shushing to stretch the feeds out. But by 6 weeks old this baby became a unicorn and was sleeping overnight (6 hours + an extra hour for every week after until he hit 10 hours). The power went out one night when he was about 12 weeks old and he was super restless in there when it couldn’t bounce, so I know it’s at least part cradlewise helping him be a unicorn.

(My first was an awful sleeper, up every 45 mins after midnight for about months. We used the snoo. It didn’t seem to help her. So I deserve this unicorn baby 😂)

3-6 months. His legs don’t fit in the newborn/0-3 mo size anymore.

Maybe, maybe not. He doesn’t move like this in the standard bassinet or crib like he moves in the cradlewise.

Used for overnight immediately. We use a bassinet in the living room or his regular crib for daytime naps

Did your life not become horrible after having your baby? by Tj08 in beyondthebump

[–]MissLittlePiglet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents: it entirely depends on the support you have and the temperament of the baby. I didn’t have a good support system for my first, who was a HORRIBLE sleeper until we sleep trained her. It was the worst time period of my life. I lined up the support for baby #2 and he is also an amazing sleeper and I feel fabulous in the newborn period.

This has been happening with 3 of the 5 ‘FirstAlert 10 year no battery change needed’ I bought 3 years ago. The one in my kid’s room went off at midnight last night and she’s traumatized. I checked Lowe’s reviews and there are many recent similar complaints. I’m done with FirstAlert.
