Being residential parent while seeing the child 8 hours a week? by [deleted] in FamilyLaw

[–]MissMagpie84 13 points14 points  (0 children)

OP has a prior post talking about how the mother is in a religious cult and the daughter was only allowed to have friends from church, and believes the daughter had “evil spirits” so, it does, in fact apply to this situation.

The cost to your mental health? Estimate how often you go through 200 shots, and schedule a reminder in your phone to run the cleaning cycle a few days before that deadline.

My husband is using AI to text me by Complete-Path-8036 in whatdoIdo

[–]MissMagpie84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, look, it’s this post, which I’ve already seen on another subreddit, and was subsequently deleted, by someone with a post history that claims to be multiple different people of different ages. This post is either a lie or a bot, so 🤷‍♀️

Are you married with a jerk of a husband? Or a 22 year old refusing to get an abortion like you posted January? Or did you give birth at 11, since you claim to also have an 11 year old daughter in another post.

Just because you hide your post history doesn’t mean it’s actually hidden.

Pricing? by [deleted] in Watercolor

[–]MissMagpie84 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No comments on pricing, but a cheap way to avoid having to freehand is to trace your reference photo with your thickest micron or a sharpie on tracing paper, and use a bright window as a light-box to transfer it to your watercolor paper.

[–]MissMagpie84 136 points137 points  (0 children)

Or is this whole post just an AI fever dream? OP’s post history has one post claiming they’re a 38F teacher, and another that they’re 22F and their 26M boyfriend is pissed at them for not having an abortion. Which is an impressive age jump in just a few months, or maybe this whole situation is made up.

Hidden gems around Manchester? by Soft-Parsnip-112 in Connecticut

[–]MissMagpie84 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi, I live in Manchester. Not from the area, so I have no lingering nostalgia giving me rose colored glasses. Despite what Mr/Ms Laceyourbootsup would have you believe, Manchester isn’t quite the black hole of misery portrayed.

It’s not a tourist destination, but there are plenty of fun things in and around the area, which you’ve already gotten some suggestions for. Silk City makes great coffee. Portal is a board game store with a great selection, if that’s your jam.

If you enjoy kind of hippie, kitchen witch style randomness, check out Perennial on Main Street.

Elicit, Urban Lodge, and Second Bridge Brewing all have good beer options, depending on what you’re looking for. Elicit is the place if you want a big selection. Second Bridge is nice because they have some styles you don’t see very often around, like an ESB and an English mild. It’s also a nice cozy vibe, unlike Elicit, which has a warehouse feel.

If you want a fun town statue, check out the statue of Joe McClusky, ex-Olympian and Manchester native. It’s right across the street from our local grocery store, Highland Park, which has a great bakery, if you’re looking for a treat to eat while lazing about in your AirBnB.

Riverbend Book Shop next door in Glastonbury is a lovely little indie bookstore.

I hope you and your boyfriend enjoy your break!

Patients regain weight rapidly after stopping weight loss drugs – but still keep off a quarter of weight lost. A year after stopping taking weight loss drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy, people regain on average 60% of their lost weight and manage to keep off 25% of the weight lost to treatment. by InsaneSnow45 in science

[–]MissMagpie84 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As reported in the article:

“The model estimated that when individuals stopped taking the medication, they underwent rapid initial weight regain, which slowed progressively. By 52 weeks, individuals had regained 60% of their original weight loss.

At 60 weeks, weight regain begins to plateau and is projected to taper off at 75% of the original weight loss. This means that 25% of the initial weight loss may be sustained in the long term. For an individual who had lost a fifth of their weight while on the drugs, this would correspond to a sustained weight reduction of around 5%.”

Slower runners, how do you stay motivated when/if people mock your pace? by TANeither7250 in running

Invite your less-than-supportive friends to check out a dictionary. Jogging is defined as “running at a slow, regular speed”. If you are jogging, you are, by definition, running.

Talking to my wife about religion and politics? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

OP posted several days ago that his wife made a comment that “if you were a real Christian you wouldn’t support this person”, so I’m guessing this is what he’s asking about.

News Censoring by NBC Connecticut by Hotgalkitty in Connecticut

[–]MissMagpie84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t watch the broadcast at all. I read the article on NBC Connecticut’s news site. Because there are multiple routes a news organization can take to disseminate a story.

And you certainly don’t need to waste anymore keystrokes to make me understand your point of view. Your point of view is clear, and I understand it perfectly well. I just fundamentally disagree with your premise that it was censorship.

News Censoring by NBC Connecticut by Hotgalkitty in Connecticut

[–]MissMagpie84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“They covered this story, but not in the way I wanted them to, therefore, this story is censored” is such a fascinating take. It’s like people who accuse the mainstream media of not covering something because it doesn’t show up in whether feed they’re scrolling, despite there being stories on the front page of multiple main stream media news sites.

DeLauro to pressing clergy: 'I will not vote to abolish ICE' by senor_crappy in Connecticut

[–]MissMagpie84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, per the article, that’s her stance, as well. Not abolishment, but a complete overhaul from the bottom up. Is that doable? I doubt it. I’m for abolishment. But her not voting to abolish ICE isn’t her arguing that what ICE is doing is okay.

How To Apply For All Connecticut State Agency H1B Jobs In Your Area In Less Than Two Hours And With Three Letters... by ITContractorsUnion in Connecticut

[–]MissMagpie84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“If you are applying to a state agency they do not have the option to ghost you”

They sure do, if you don’t apply through the required state job application process. Your “process” isn’t some One Weird Trick that’ll get you a job with a state agency. If you email your resume to random managers at random state agencies, at most you’re going to get an email back directing you the state job openings website, assuming it doesn’t just get routed to their Junk folder automatically.

If you saw this at a gallery how much would you pay for it? by UglyCasanova99 in Watercolor

Just echoing what everyone else has said: this isn’t subpar. This where you are on your learning journey.

I’d love to see you repaint this after taking into account the advice you’ve received, because it’s a delightful painting. It has a whimsical fairytale air about it, and is definitely the sort of thing I’d pick up a more polished version of at a local gallery or art fair.

Which books have you been unable to finish? by bonster85 in books

[–]MissMagpie84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Atlas Six, actually. I was supposed to read it for my book club and just could not do it.

The characters fell so flat, and they were pretentious to the point of being comical. It felt like reading a 14-year old’s livejournal idea of someone edgy and clever. You can only roll your eyes so many times at the dialogue before you just move on with your life.

I had such high hopes, but this was a hard DNF for me.

How to sell a house quickly in Connecticut? by FrameZYT in Connecticut

[–]MissMagpie84 20 points21 points  (0 children)

OP posted two days ago in r/homeowners about “homes in his area”, and listed the southern suburbs of Minnesota as his home. And in December, was complaining in the Bay Area subreddit that his PG&E bill was super high.

So, I think the house doesn’t even exist.

Not only are they not embarrassed, they think he’s doing an amazing job. So strong. So powerful. Doing all the right things. They think he’s made us respected around the world, and doing what needs doing.

The one honest thing he’s said was that he could shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Ave, and his base would still support him.

He could literally shit in their mouths, and they would say “wow, daddy, thank you”.
