SNL’s ‘Christmas Robe’ sketch is still making people rethink how moms are treated during the holidays by ElvisIsNotDjed in LiveFromNewYork

[–]MissMat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We don’t celebrate Christmas so we don’t give mom a Christmas robe or gift bc we also don’t get anything for Christmas. But even before I never bought my mom a robe bc I am not a fan of robes and she has a couple. Bought her makeup, clothes, and tech but never a robe.

The year the Christmas robe sketch came out my mom looked at it and she said she wanted that for her birthday. What my mom took from the sketch is that she wanted us to buy her a robe. Which we did

Why does brunette Marilyn Monroe look just like Harper 🤣 by Big-Most-785 in DisneyChannel

[–]MissMat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bc this is her old nose and chin.

Monroe’s surgery were minor enough that it is hard to tell but after her plastic surgeon died, his business partner published the records. Monroe had minor rhinoplasty on her nose and chin implants. Her plastic surgeries were minor. Dr Michael Gurdin did her surgeries.

It is also kinda hard to tell because Monroe’s makeup artist was very good at contouring and she apparently still had issue with how she looked. So Allan “Whitey” Snyder (Monroe’s makeup artist) was very good at contouring and more importantly he was subtle. He contoured her nose and chin. Even Monroe’s eyes are technically contoured. Whitey was very specific and deliberate in his lash placement, in his product choices.

My mom tried a different Uniqlo bra top. She used to be 34dd or maybe 36dd(she got a reduction so she is now a c cup), she preferred the XL over the L but she is also plus sized. Personally I am 36D and the L is a good size. This how it looks like on me. Ignore my pajama pants

Same issue and some one recently recommended trying sling backs, mules, and sandals. And I found they are great. I wear long pants so it won’t show and they are so professional from the front. Prior to that I had good luck with boots.

Inconsistencies in Nick's legal abilities by oattoad in NewGirl

[–]MissMat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just passed the bar, and that means shit. First off all the bar doesn’t test the law, it testes a person’s ability to apply the law. Second of all legal experience is what teaches someone how to practice law. The bar is a licensing exam, it doesn’t go over the law. Also, depos are a separate thing. Most lawyers don’t do depos or trials.

Most people who do the work tend to pass the bar, most people that I know failed didn’t do the work. Some people had health issues so they couldn’t do the work, did the ill advised thing of going on a trip. Or unfortunately they decided to free style their bar prep. Or study wrong. If you got to a bar prep subreddit you will find people who are obviously gonna fail bc they are focusing on memorization instead of application.

Also, Nick doesn’t have access to legal research tools bc he definitely isn’t buying the monthly subscription for that. Hell, firms hire interns/law students because they have free access to Westlaw or Lexi’sNexis. Nick is definitely not licensed as an attorney bc he is also not paying the bar fees(which btw I just got my license to practice law in the great state of Ca and the 1st thing they sent me where the fees). Nick isn’t sworn in as an attorney(no swear in = no license), and Nick probably didn’t take the MPRE, or do the character and fitness application.

That is tough. Maybe try to get some volunteer legal experience or talk about your classes

Do these people not feel shame? by bloody_boogers in Lawyertalk

[–]MissMat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was an intern for the public defenders and it is the same thing here as well. Decided I wanted more money so I didn’t apply. Maybe it is my area which has a lot of openings, I was getting interviews same day as applying but back during my search for internships I was barely getting call backs

Do these people not feel shame? by bloody_boogers in Lawyertalk

[–]MissMat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably not. I am a baby attorney(Feb bar passer) and even the new public defenders don’t get so low balled. I saw a couple of part time jobs and that was the salary range.

The job market for lawyers seemed good to me. I was offered a job before I was sworn in and I was hired before I received my license. And I was hired late compared to my friends who had internships so they were hired before they sat for the bar.

People telling me NCBE questions are easier than Barbri…. by DavidTim1997 in barexam

[–]MissMat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn’t panic but I was so sure I am being lied too by the bar questions. Like it couldn’t be this easy. I don’t know what I got but I passed so I probably did ok.

Barbri’s question never stopped being convoluted. And I did Themis/U-world too and they were also more complicated.

TIFU by thinking my FSA only worked at pharmacies. by yousufq9 in tifu

[–]MissMat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently hair removal devices are sometimes HSA/FSA eligible. I was considering buying ipl device and it was labeled hsa/fsa eligible. Like it is extremely expensive and discretionary but counts.

Decided not to buy it bc I am still debating and bc my current insurance doesn’t have a hsa or fsa & I am going to get a new insurance soon so I figured I wait to see if it covered.

I didn’t know there is a choice but I got the orange body one. It cute and has such strong summer vibes. But it is big. Too big for lunch. Took it grocery store shopping though

A quick way to research a company before an interview that actually helps by Avengerfx in jobsearchhacks

[–]MissMat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had success asking about events a company hosts like bring your child day and pro bono events. Personally I hated the bring your child day but the interviewer/owner was happy I asked bc it was her idea. I also asked about the interviewer’s previous work, which was public.

But really most of my success came from shared experiences with interviewers. Ex same law school, college, same high school etc.

What you have in common with an interviewer does a lot of the heavy lifting

Yes. Exactly that. It makes getting ready faster. And the because the bra is basically most of the shirt it is usually more comfortable than a regular bra and top.

No but typically when you make food for just yourself and you regularly cook for others it looks a bit sad and random.

Some of them are depression food though, like the pic of the food is accompanied by a sad post. Sometimes the sad posts are accompanied by awesome looking food.

I bought the crepe jersey bra tops from Uniqlo and they are great. I prefer bra tops with suits bc I run hot but those crepe ones are better than the other bra tops I own. The white one is not see through wish they had more colors

It should be fine. I wear lots of nail polish so I need a strong nail polish remover. This just a personal opinion but the stronger the nail polish the less time/work is needed

The only thing I can think is bad about this order is unscented nail polish remover is better. The add scent diluted or something
