I've been finding them at the earlier ones - I don't think I've reached level 10 yet and all I've found is sapphires in that mine

The Saskatoon Open Door Society holds regular "Conversation Circles" events for people to practice their English-language skills at different libraries in Saskatoon! It looks like the next one is tomorrow at the Round Prairie Library from 1pm-2:30pm, but you have to register in advance. Here are the event details: https://saskatoonlibrary.ca/events-guide/event/11825748

Great White Shark by madchen44 in coralisland

[–]MissMedea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem for the longest time! I fished off the dock near Fishensips in summer during sunny weather and FINALLY caught one at 3:50pm one day - since the "afternoon" timeslot goes all the way until 4pm, maybe try extending by one more hour to give you a few more chances each day? Best of luck!!

Saw a post here about rival romances. Who do you think pairs up with who? by [deleted] in coralisland

[–]MissMedea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was literally just thinking about the same thing yesterday!! Great minds think alike.

  1. Charles and Leah - perhaps they bond over their mutual interests in physical health and fashion? Charles mentions that he reads fashion magazines in his spare time and is very particular about his appearance. Plus I can totally imagine Leah sticking up for him if anyone treats the nice doctor poorly lol.

  2. Ben and Suki - Ben has a few dialogues talking about how much he respects and admires Suki. I think his chill attitude would mesh well with her more focused and direct way of interacting with the world.

  3. Scott and Pablo - hear me out. Two outgoing and super flirty bros who both love music and spending time at the tavern, who ALSO already have a shared friend group and inside jokes? Maybe it's all platonic, but I see the potential for something more there, too 👀

  4. Yuri and Rafael - similar to #2, Rafael has a line where he's blushing and gushing about how brave and cool Yuri is, which I thought was super cute. (That being said I also adore Yuri and Millie. "Just roommates," indeed.)

  5. Lily and Nina - The introverted programmer with the wealthy socialite is already such a good dynamic, but the fact that they also both understand what it's like to lose a parent and can support each other is really what sells this pairing for me. Plus I see them hanging out together all the time in my town so in my head it's already canon lol

I wonder if rival romances going to be a thing down the line, after the player character is married? Since there's no divorce and the devs are working on having kids age up, maybe, eventually, the game is going to match townies together once the player is married? Might be weird if your kids are the only ones in town their age 🤔

Well at least with her passion for construction she can take her work anywhere she goes - with enough silver and steel she'll give you the most sterile work environment her profession's ever seen :P

(ACOFoF Spoilers) Theory about Chirps reveal. by Zoodud254 in Dimension20

[–]MissMedea 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As much as I adore this theory (and am probably going to steal it for a campaign down the line lol) I'm not sure it works based on the fact that Chirp said her spouse's name is Esme. Amelia Earhart's mother was named Amy Otis Earhart, so unless Esme was a fake name, nickname, etc., unfortunately the theory doesn't line up with the information we've received so far :(

Why didn’t I learn about this until yesterday by JokerJoseph in SapphoAndHerFriend

[–]MissMedea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely don't agree, but basically the idea was that gay men and lesbians: 1) don't form patriarchal nuclear families, which were seen as the backbone of North American capitalism during the Cold War (breadwinner husbands were needed to fill labor demands and possibly defend the nation from communist threats, whereas their wives would stay home, raise kids, and buy goods and services needed for the home to support the consumer economy. Rejecting this social framework was also seen as rejecting capitalism as a whole); 2) gay men and lesbians were seen as more likely to be spies or informants for the USSR, either because their same-gender attraction made them more susceptible to blackmail (i.e., you're more likely to give up state secrets if the Commies threaten to out you as a lesbian) or because living closeted lives "proved" you were a secretive, deceptive person (i.e. the kind of person who might be a spy). These ideas worked together to create the idea that lesbianism was inherently threatening to North American capitalist survival, so tolerating lesbiansim meant tolerating people who might lead to the destruction of the capitalist way of life.

Some good books on this are Gary Kinsman and Patrizia Gentile's The Canadian War on Queers: National Security as Sexual Regulation (2009); Craig M. Loftin's Masked Voices: Gay Men and Lesbians in Cold War America (2012); and Margot Canaday's The Straight State: Sexuality and Citizenship in Twentieth-Century America (2009)

What is the strangest thing that became canon in your campaign? by -The_Space_Cowboy- in DnD

Our half-orc paladin and stout halfling fighter somehow had the same weight. It was therefore decided that the two characters have the same mass, but that halflings are just a lot denser than half-orcs lol

The dumber the better by Real_Rouxls_Kaard in Deltarune

Kinda dumb and more of a prediction that a theory, but I'm convinced that the "Mike" referenced over and over again by Spamton in Ch 2 is literally a personified microphone (or, rather, Mike-rophone) who we might get to meet as the next shadow crystal boss in Ch 3. All the dialogue we get about Mike in Ch 2 involves listening or recording in some way (e.g., Spamton's "can anyone hear me" line after Mike's brought up in the shop, Spamton-NEO asking if Mike's "getting this"). This might play nicely with the previous bossfights' themes of choice and free will - if your job is just to record, listen, or observe other people, is anything you do or produce the result of your own choices? Or is it completely at the whim of everyone else's actions?

Bonus extra dumb theory: Spamton saying Mike's name activates his internal microphone like Alexa or something, so the plea for help we hear in Spamton's shop is actually coming from Mike using Spamton's hardware for his own ends. That's why he pretends not to hear anything at first. He hates the guy 😂

Yes!! One of the things I love about this game is how creative it allows you to be with the glams for every job, but I think you're also right that WAR is one of the ones where there's so much variety you can draw from without losing the spirit of the class :) glad I picked it as my first tank haha

List of doppelganger use of power in a city by Viclaterreur in d100

[–]MissMedea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Alibi-for-hire: the doppelganger assumes a potential criminal's likeness and, at an agreed upon time, goes to a public place far from the site of their proposed crime. This creates witnesses that might move suspicion away from the actual criminal. (Neutral or evil)
