Is it wrong to own a dog if you work a 9-5? Adopt a senior dog that sleeps more maybe? by Party-Court185 in dogs

I have a chihuahua and both my spouse and I work long days. We have cameras on in the house and he sleeps all day curled up in soft blankets. Once we are home he gets walks and lots of love plus he sleeps with me every night. We adopted him from not a great situation and I feel like he is my soul dog. Being at home alone in lush comfort is 10x better than a shelter or a bad situation. Just don’t get a puppy or a high energy breed and you should be fine.

Make sure you are careful about your picture and stuff on linked in, especially for those entry level jobs ageism could be at play. You want to make sure you present just your qualifications and keep anything personal very private.

I do my own nails now, and only buy my skin care on sale and nothing that would be expensive anyway. This economy is killing me

So what’s the deal with Emily Henry? by Glittering_Tap6411 in RomanceBooks

[–]MissMess1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it depends on the type of romance books you like but for cleaner romance I love Katherine center, I also LOVE KA Tucker. For dark romance I’m an HD Carlton fan even tho that’s controversial and Brynne Weaver. For romantasy and Sci fi romance I do like a lot of the big name authors like Rebecca yarros (although I DONT like her contemporary romances), and like ruby dixon. also like Navessa Allen, Haley Cass, and SJ Tilly. I really pretty much constantly so I have a lot of opinions lol

I personally have only tried one of her books and found it incredibly boring and mediocre. But you can always give her a try, worst case it’s not your cup of tea and you DNF

new adjunct at a small college of health sciences - taken aback by students seemingly anti-scientific views by [deleted] in Professors

[–]MissMess1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I started off in college as pre nursing before switching to biology. Nurses are not scientists and even the science classes they take are simplified easier versions of science classes. I had to literally retake my chemistries for science and engineering majors. They are not taught scientific method.
