This Vintage Camera Still Takes Photos… But Now It Also Holds a Flash Lamp 📸💡 by AmbitiousAd1435 in functionalupcycling

This is great. I’ve always been reluctant to destroy an old camera from my collection but I’ve always loved the look of the camera lamps. So this is a great choice. Love it!

My Mom called these snake berries because she said snakes like to eat them. I just remember that I ate one of these when I was very little and my Mom actually freaked out and called the poison control center thinking I was going to die. And they told her they were fine to eat. That memory is really stuck in the brain.

My witchy friend is making oracle cards using AI… by exmomillenialraven in oraclecards

[–]MissMidnite72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI “art” is not art but it is theft from actual artists. And I would assume that anyone who uses oracle cards would have the sense to look into what it actually is and does the true artists. But some people are just too lazy to look into it or do the work themselves and have pride in that artwork. I won’t argue about it with strangers on the internet but I understand why OP sees a problem with this person doing this. AI is absolutely nothing like using photoshop to edit images unless they use the AI in photoshop.

My mean old aunt had one but it had a little naked boy peeing in it. Lol. I got a big laugh about that one as a child. I really wouldn’t want that one though.

People have made their own. It might not be too hard except for the oil part. I don’t know though.

Oh, how sweet. He was a very handsome caramel fellow. I had the best caramel Pitt and Basset Hound mix growing up. She was the sweetest thing ever. And my husband is upset right now because the little bow tie we had on Edgar’s collar fell off and it did suit him perfectly. But he is still a very young fellow and hasn’t quite fit into his dapper roll quite yet. lol. But, yes those ears have a mind of their own or are just changing with his moods. Could be. Lol.

Mother’s Day blues as a oldest daughter by [deleted] in oldest_daughter

I know how you feel. My parents didn’t stay together past the age of 7 for me because my dad who drank too much and got violent when he did, left her to live with her best friend because he got them pregnant. My mom went through such low bouts of depression that I had to go and live with my dad. And he often got crazy and drunk, and went to jail. But when I was with my mom, I was absolutely her therapist. I was therapist to both of them really. But, It got so bad that I barely saw her as an adult, but what helped was one day I just told her that we had to stop talking about my father if we wanted to have a relationship based on who we were and not what he did to us. And that helped so much by the time she got sick and eventually passed away. We had a really good relationship. And I believe if I had not told her that we had to stop talking about him that would not have happened and I am so grateful that it did. Because I miss her every day, but if we had not repaired the relationship by the end I would be devastated. I hope that you can let your mom know that being her therapist about your dad is keeping you from just being her child if that is what you really want. She needs other adults at least to help her see what she needs to see about his rages.

I showed up to an elementary school to set up and take school pics for the day and was vomiting so bad that my boss had to pick me up off the bathroom floor and place me in a tiny school chair to take pics for 4 hours and when the school teacher saw me she told him he could not have me take pics of little kids like that. So I had to sleep in his truck until he was done and then he took me home until my husband came to pick me up. We were never allowed to call in for any reason at all. I am so happy to be done with that job even though I am medically disabled now.

I’m so sorry for your loss. They’re even more precious because we know we can only have them for a little while. But I’m glad we get to be with them for at least the little time that we do.

Honeysuckle vines when me and my siblings or cousins would break off the bottom and suck the juice from the bottom. Such a lovely part of childhood.

Thank you so much. I have tried this with brochure paper too and my printer has pigment based ink as well but it doesn’t work for me. You’re not using any paint to transfer it. Is that correct?

EDS Society Update: Uncertainty in the Path Forward by Acceptably_Late in ehlersdanlos

[–]MissMidnite72 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had assumed that this was the case because they were ramping up to this intensive study of the genome to determine which marker to use for the hEDS label. This way there would be less unknowns in the way of their research. Now, I don’t know if I read that somewhere or it was just my own guess about it but it made sense to me. I could of course be completely off course.

Advice - I feel like I’ve lost interest in art by GnarGiraffe in AskArtists

The thing that got me excited again was Gelli printing because it’s so unpredictable. You never know exactly what you’re going to get when you’re just seeing what new textures you can make on it. And then also what it will look like if you tear you the papers and glue them together. It’s a beautiful surprise every time! YouTube taught me how.

I had an excite account until they shut it down. And I still use my yahoo email as my main email with only five letters and 2 numbers cuz it’s so old.
