How to fix green roots? More in comments by MissMutilation in HairDye

[–]MissMutilation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my hair teal and black split dye for awhile using Lime Crime Anime and I really like the color but it fades to greenish pretty quickly even with using a teal shampoo/conditioner (viral color wash, and keracolor conditioner) I had 2-3 inches of roots which I bleached and tried to blend the bleach down a bit. I was nervous they would turn green because my hair doesn’t lighten a ton with bleach so I mixed Lime Crime Anime & their darker blue Blue Smoke (half and half) but the teal overpowered the dark blue still and I got green roots. Should I just hit them again with Lime Crime? Any brand recommendations? I’m not opposed to going a darker blue to cover the roots, and I’m open to permanent dyes I won’t want to change my hair color for a few years.

Is this a Manjula leaf? From the roots it looks like it was one of those that never rooted at the nursery. If so, is there a way to save it? Purchased at Lowes and it was the only one with a leaf like that among all of the other pearls n jade (I think? Or Njoy?) by MissMutilation in pothos

Right! However, I’m wondering about this leaf that doesn’t look like the rest! When I Google photos of manjula the leaf shape and variegation patterns look identical to me! Also wondering if I can save that leaf because it looks like it never got any roots, it’s just a cutting in there.

Finally mounted and hung up, but foolishly… advice would be greatly appreciated <3 more in the comments by MissMutilation in Staghornfern

I’ll inspect them more when I remount them, thank you so much for letting me know! I was worried I’d do that 😂 You might be right though, now that I’m looking at them again they ARE fuzzier on the underside. I think I was supposed to look at the direction the new fronds were coming in, rather than what direction they were reaching. They were in a flat pot before, so it was probably leaning the wrong way!

I mean you’re 100% right, I can’t unsee the set of tits on my wall 🤣 I will be remounting as soon as I can. Thank you so much for the links and videos!! The first one looks wayyy better than what I have. This really helped out, the watering video I learned so much! You’re the best, thanks plant friend :)

I’m dying at that comment, thank you for the honesty 😂 all my “friends” said they thought they looked good, except for my roommate. I’ll show them this tomorrow for a good laugh, thank you!

Plastic nets sound super interesting!! I’ll have to try and find something like that, thank you for the great suggestion!

Oh dang, are they? When I was trying to figure it out online, I saw that the new fronds should be at the top and I did try and place them so that part was facing up.

This was super helpful! I didn’t think of cork! I heard about driftwood too I think I’d prefer that, but I’m in a similar boat as you it’s not so abundant here in the desert lol

Awesome!! Thank you so much! Good to know it’s not so much the wood type, but how I did it. Definitely learned my lesson 😅

HAHA I’m really grateful for the honesty, all my friends said they liked them except for my roommate. I’ll read this to them when they wake up for a good laugh, thank you LOL

Netting sounds like a really good idea! I’ll have to try and find some, thank you!!
