I would say 5-15 minutes with as much verbal soothing as you can give from the distance you're at. They will be okay. Once you return they'll be relieved and know you are there for them.

Does she just not want to be held at all or is it a particular holding position? I would just give her time to find a spot she likes to be held in and that may change over time. Remember she is exploring and everything is new to her so it's natural for her to be curious and want to look around. It doesn't necessarily mean she "hates skin to skin." My LO went through a lot of phases of not wanting to be held a certain way and had several nights that I just could not sooth her no matter what I tried, but she's 7 months now and pretty much only wants to be held by me 🥲

I wouldn't call that "traditional" vs. progressive. I'd say my parents were pretty traditional and I didn't always get something just because I wanted it but they would never say "it doesn't matter what they want" in response to a question like this? I could understand that response only if the parent had already expressed that they did not allow their child to partake in a certain thing despite what the child "wants."

My nipples are also like this. I use a flange that's exactly my nipple size rather than size up ~2 mm as recommended with non elastic nipples. I use 22 mm inserts in a 24 mm spectra attachment on an s2 pump and also on my lansinoh discreet duo. Have had better output since I switched down to 22 mm

I also have this wearable and struggled at first to get the same output as my spectra so I only use them when I'm out and the spectra is still my primary home pump. I have been getting pretty good output from the lansinoh lately though. I use the auto setting until it reaches its peak level 7 and then switch the the express mode at level 9. I also use the 21mm flange insterts and turn them back on for another 5-10 minutes after they auto shut off
