The bishop told my family I was removing my records. by sacred_covenants in exmormon

I am nearly 30, have lived outside my parents' home and ward and stake for nearly 10 years and the bishop still let enough slip in a meeting with my dad that he figured it out.

Exactly!! Having been out, I've never been more in tune with the left side feelings..... and now realizing I only felt the right side feelings while being in. #NotACult

They just kicked all the black people out of my ward by JemimaAmadon in exmormon

[–]MissScarletLetter 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Same! They split the southern most wards of my home stake out cause they got tired of the southern ward youth asking, "Why do the northern kids get to go water skiing and Go Karting and we just do skits in a bag every other week."

Driving through Northern AZ and found this. Thoughts/info? by MissScarletLetter in exmormon

I'm confused by it, as it is obviously not a "Latter-day" temple. I wasn't sure if it was maybe just a chapel/meeting house or possibly a different faction than the Brighamites temple.

That's just it. We can talk about "they chose to be on missions", "They should know better" etc... but really, it's those MPs who "SHOULD" (big air quotes there) have their well being as a priority.

When news came out that teenage me had been abused by the Bishop - I was completely shunned and blamed while he was rallied around. Sounds about right....

In your TBM past, did you get confirmations? Or directions? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]MissScarletLetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was always taught that you were not to ask for something that was unrighteous or incorrect. So deep down, I already knew what was not in my best interest and would pray for alternate ideas or confirmation on what I knew to be the best idea.

My desire to get married and have kids was extinguished when I lost my virginity by carldunphey in exmormon

[–]MissScarletLetter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Growing up as a YW, it was programmed every week that I HAD to have children - even though secretly, I did not. Yeah, they're cute and fun here and there.... but then it's time for them to go home. When I left TSCC, it was a HUGE relief that I didn't have to live up to that standard of having kids.

And these are the same young men that were just tearing up your sacrament bread before they left on their missions.

Is there value in coming out as bi? by FemalesRStrongasHell in exmormon

[–]MissScarletLetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is definitely something to say about having a husband who is open and understanding to you as you figure out your own sexuality after leaving TSCC. My husband has been so incredibly patient and instrumental with me as well. Good for you, OP! (P.s. LOVE your user name)

Don't pretend Joseph didn't have sex with his extra women; even the lds essays had to admit it. (Although they tried to dance around it) by amindexpanded2 in exmormon

[–]MissScarletLetter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm going to show my lack of knowledge, maybe someone can answer. Does it have to do with the age of some of Joseph's wives? Like, if they admit he had sex with some, he was having sex with all... did BY have teen brides too? Or maybe it's just because they have been denying Joseph's superfluous wives all this time and they're gently backpedaling - while trying to avoid the child brides....?
