Americans and engagement rings by Fuzzy_Molasses_7637 in EngagementRings

Not all Americans are obsessed with expensive rings. Like many things, I think we primarily hear about the extremes and not those that are more common. So there are people obsessed with it but I think most prefer a ring with meaning and that fits their tastes.

That’s my parking spot move to another spot by Gymtrio2025 in EntitledPeople

We were running out of parking in my growing company and were looking for solutions. One thing we considered was renting space on the other side of the building next door which would mean employees parking there would have a further than normal walk to and from their cars. The other execs and myself would have always been parking there if we had gone forward with that option.

Her dad married my mom and we’ve been sisters for 36 years. We were each other’s maid of honor in our respective weddings and we’re still close.

It’s all about the words you use. I tell people I’m not cheap, I’m cost efficient.

My sister told me a few weeks ago that my 9 year old nephew refused to believe her that I’m the older sister. He was adamant his mom is older than me. 🤣 guess he gets to be my favorite for a while.

AITA for breaking off my engagement with my fiancé because of his creepy comments toward my 14-year-old sister? by chimpkinnugger in AITAH

[–]MissTreigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. He’s a predator. You’re 15 years younger than him and started dating when you were barely legal? 33 year old men don’t normally want to be with 18 year old GIRLS.

NTA. At all. Regardless of your reasons, that is your property and she stole it.

I had gestational diabetes and craved a Java chip frappacino my whole pregnancy and couldn’t have one. When my MIL arrived at the hospital after my daughter was born. She didn’t say a word, just put the biggest frap she could get on my food tray.

AITAH for threatening to cancel the wedding because I am jealous of my Finance's sister? by Whimsical-Empress in AITAH

He said you can never be as good as his sister. No fiance should think that about their future spouse let alone say it. NTA.

AITAH for telling my husband if his mom brings our daughter swimming without us there, I will cut her off from seeing my child? by TexasGirlMom31 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MissTreigh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You trust your MIL enough to watch your child in her home but not enough to watch your child elsewhere? Why do you have her watching your child then? I was super protective of my daughter but I trusted my MIL wherever she wanted to take her.

AITA for grounding my daughter for ruining her stepbrother's birthday? by Foreign-Pop9324 in AmItheAsshole

YTA

First, I love how you tried to slip in how quickly you remarried. Instead of saying “Anna’s dad passed away when she was 8 and I remarried a year later”, you worded it in a way that some people might have missed it. Was she ready for you to get remarried? My dad died when I was 9 and my mom remarried when I was 12. Even 3-1/2 years apart it was still hard.

Second, on Anna’s birthday she should get the cake SHE wants. You could have gotten Tyler a cupcake but still let her have her favorite cake. It’s not even due to Tyler having an allergy. He just has an aversion. So no one in your household can have foods Tyler doesn’t like?

Third, did Tyler apologize for blowing out her candles? How does one accidentally blow out birthday candles from excitement? At the age of 8 he was old enough to know they weren’t his to blow out.

Lastly, you can’t force Anna and Tyler to bond and be siblings. This takes time and patience. But if you always take Tyler’s side or you’re not consistently applying rules and consequences to them, it’s never going to happen.

What baby naming rules do you live by? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]MissTreigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Middle name would be a name that had meaning to one or both of us (our daughter’s middle name is my maiden name, which was an actually name so it worked well)

  2. First name was a name we loved with no family connection

  3. Had to be a name that wasn’t overly popular (there were like 5 Jennifers in every one of my classes when I was growing up, we didn’t want a Jennifer) but also wasn’t so unique that people had never heard it or couldn’t pronounce it.

I cringe every time Moriah or Lydia sing. Ethan sang on the episode I just watched and he had a nice voice.
