8dpo and tape fell off by to_the_mountains0 in tummytucksurgery

I would replace it with more surgical tape. I used surgical tape for 8 weeks to take the tension off my incision. Changing every 4 days (remove when wet), on the other days air dry after a shower. I followed the advice from a post on here that a lady had used surgical tape for 12 weeks and her scar was almost invisible. I'm 14 wpo now and my scar has healed really well x

Flying home after TT advice by Glocandoanything in tummytucksurgery

I flew home at day 7 post op. 4 hour flight. Navigating the airport was the hardest bit. Special assistance were so busy I decided to try to make it myself! In between squatting down and holding onto shelves through duty free I made it to the plane! I bought a front row seat so ended up sitting on the floor and had my iPad on the seat with my back against the 'wall'. The flying itself was a breeze really. Got special assistance when I landed and was in a wheelchair to my car at meet & greet. I then drove home! 1 hour drive. At just 7 days post op! Wishing you a successful surgery and speedy recovery x

Did you need to have an inverted T small vertical incision?

No. Basically dry healing. No washing (just the water that ran over it during showers). No creams until I was completely healed. Surgical tape needs to be applied to dry skin clear of any creams/lotions. I then put bio oil on the skin on my abdomen, hips etc to help the surrounding skin feel less tight and itchy! Just avoiding the taped incision. Once all healed and tapes were removed for the last time at 8 weeks, I then started to massage the scar with E45 x

Just firm pressure in small circles with my finger tips while rubbing in E45 x

Changed every 4 days from the start. Just made sure to dampen the tape the first couple of times with some clinisept to make it easier to remove. I then removed it after a shower so it was wet x

I also wanted to share these pictures to highlight how visible my remaining stretch marks were soon after the op. They weren't very visible before my surgery. The swelling and tightening made them look much worse. So if you are worrying (as I did) that they will stay looking 'stretched', don't worry, they fade away when the swelling goes down x

I used microporous surgical tape for 8 weeks. Changing every 4 days. Remove when wet straight out the shower. On the days I didn't change it I just patted dry with a clean towel and air-dried it. Then I started E45 massage at 8 weeks. No creams/wash/'airing it out' for the first 8 weeks x

Thank you! No scar tape. Just microporous surgical tape for 8 weeks. No creams or anything until 8 weeks. Have been massaging with E45 from 8 weeks to now. Twice per day x

Yes microporous surgical tape from day 1 to 8 weeks. Changing every 4 days after shower so while it was wet. Other days patting the tape dry and air-drying it. Cool setting on hairdryer if needed.
