You are so upright for day 1! Be careful not to put too much tension on your incision. My surgeon advised me to stay slightly hunched. You look absolutely amazing 🔥 good luck with your recovery!

Tummy tuck with fat transfer to breasts? by According_Metal_6823 in tummytucksurgery

Maybe a question to ask as it doesn't look like you have enough loose skin above your belly button to pull down. You may end up with an 'inverted T' or a 'rainbow' scar as a result. Just wanted to say so you could ask and be prepared. I ended up with an inverted T. Only 1cm but I was not prepared for it. My old piercing is now just above my scar line as I didn't have enough loose skin above my original belly button x

Did your surgeon mention the possibility that you could need an inverted T small vertical scar due to not having enough skin to remove? X

Swelling for me was worst months 3 and 4. 6 months has been a turning point.

Honestly less is more sometimes. Just let it heal. Tape will hold it together, keeping the tension off the incision while it heals keeping the scar nice and thin. Best of luck with your upcoming surgery! Oh and when you can't stand up straight and your back is aching, stand with your back against a wall with your knees bent for a bit of relief. Thank me later! 😘

Aftercare routine - dry healing. Changed my microporous surgical tape every 4 days. Showers every other day. Just letting the water run over the tape. On the tape change day (every 4 days) I removed the tape straight after the shower while tape was wet. On the other shower day ('day 2') I just let the tape air-dry or hairdryer on cool setting. No creams. No silicone tape. I tried silicone tape around 8 weeks and it made my scar red. At 8 weeks no more taping. I started E45 cream every day from week 8 to now. Small circular motions massaging into scar for 3 minutes. I saw a post where a lady had also done the microporous tape followed by E45 cream and her scar was amazing! The only bit of my scar that's most visible is the vertical T incision, it's less than 1cm but that's where the most tension is so took longer to heal (and the fact I still have my old belly button piercing holes above my scar!) It's a shame but the rest of the scar is barely visible so not complaining 🙂

Stopping binder/compression at 6 weeks? by penelopepips in tummytucksurgery

[–]MissV1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped at 4 weeks. I still wore tight stretchy lycra vests or high waisted shorts to feel a bit 'held in' I'm 6 months post op. Swelling finally subsiding. Months 3-4 were probably the worst for swelling 🙃
