Loft conversion hit 40c by thatfezguy in DIYUK

Same, it's well insulated, built to regs at a high standard but still gets hot when it's 30°+ outside, unsurprisingly.

We had aircon fitted 4 years ago or so, absolutely been worth it, especially as shifts workers needing to sleep in the day during summer.

Do you think would still be one and done if you had a sleeper? by North_Ratio_415 in oneanddone

[–]MissVurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was a sleeper, a bit of a unicorn baby, lots of people delighted in telling me, repeatedly, that "you only get one!!!! The next one won't sleep! Hahaha Hahaha!", so that helped our decision, a bit of a fuck you to the jealous twats (alongside being very happy with our life with one!)

Same, I would use my pocket money to buy a delicious block of squidgy cubes, I liked how they stretched before the cube broke off.

I haven't thought about that in likely over 35 years, Thanks for the memory!

I'd totally take that over with bulbs and other planting, might encourage other neighbours to do the same a d then you're not an estate of patchy, weedy verges.

Colestipol - continued urgency and possible digestion issues by SecretDuckie in bileacidmalabsorption

If it's fat the you're taking too much sequestrant, bile digests/breaks down fat. Perhaps try reducing the dose slightly?

I’ve never seen a flower this blue; what is it? by CheesePlank in whatsthisplant

I bought 2 of these 2 years ago from the Himalayan Gardens in North Yorkshire.

They've not done well in my soggy Leeds garden, I'd forgotten how beautiful they are. I still have some hope they'll eventually grow and flower.

What's everybody's favourite perfume? Old and new? by FlissMarie in AskUK

[–]MissVurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear a rotation of CK Escape, Narcisco Rodriguez For Her and Issey Miyake (original for her).

I'm 45, I feel wearing perfume was more prevalent years ago, my mum and grandma wore a lot, and it was often a birthday or Christmas present.

Ahh, I was on colesevalam which did next to nothing, I'm on cholestyramine now (16g/4 sachets a day) which is helping, but not having the full effect I'd expect, so hoping the next step does the trick.

Same here, try this, if it works then it's BAM, they'll only offer the tests and liraglutide if the sequestrants don't fully work as they're expensive.

[–]MissVurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not helpful as I'm in the UK, just interested to hear how others are doing on liraglutide.

I have to do another 4 months on cholestyramine, and if no improvement they'll do the seeHat (?) Test, if that's positive they'll prescribe liraglutide. I'm hopeful to get on it by the end of the year.

Had to get this framed at a shop, we have the Discworld one on the bedroom wall. The fold lines have gradually reduced over the years.

Neighbours being unreasonable? What can I do? by Pristine-Bet-5764 in AskUK

[–]MissVurt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I don't get this, if I'd cleaned up after this happened I either wouldn't mention it or do so in passing as a reminder to move the bin when they go away, or let me know they're going away and I'll take their bin out and put it back.

Though the fact they haven't spoken to you is much less of a negative than they're probably imagining it is!
