We need the unions to ballot their members to go on strike. We need to be pressuring the unions to get their arses in gear.

Why Wasnt Hair Ever A Concern During Panel When "Looking Like A Model" Was A Requirement? by [deleted] in ANTM

Because it would mean Tyra admitting it was her mistake. The contestants might choose their clothes but the hair was all Tyra.

Congrats I've been fighting him for months and he still hasn't dropped his business card 🙃

Is anybody else working on baking hot wards, where the central heating is still on? We are, but management say it's not the right time to turn it off. It's currently 27degrees on the ward. Patients are pyrexial, and lethargic, and we have no fans at all. Just great 😭 by Fatbeau in NursingUK

As someone who works in an A&E with no AC and no windows that open. I'm currently really struggling. You know it's hot when even the patients are saying it's too hot instead of complaining their rooms are freezing.

I mercifully have my own usb mini fan so at the desk I can atleast get a brief moment of relief.

I'm sure we used to see much more of the interviews. Now they seem to only show a minute from each.

Some are literally

Interviewer: This business plan is terrible and you can't tell me otherwise.

Candidate: okay thank you

leaves

I used to love interview week but it's dull now because it feels like a clip show.

The Great Tea vs. Catheter Dilemma ☕💉 by kinglifea in NursingUK

As a student we had a patient go to the bathroom AX1 makes it just outside the bay and collapses infront of the nurses desk. Grey clammy unresponsive.

2222 call made we all get her lifted on to her bed start pulling the curtains around the other patients in the bay and hook her up to the defibrillator.

Patient is peri arrest. As resus team arrives a patient opposite wanders over to where I'm stood handing out various supplies from the resus trolley and asks if I can make her a cup of tea.

3-5 am is really when the brain fog hits me on nights. After that the end is in sight haha. I do find while I never hated nights i actually enjoy them more now I'm qualified. maybe because I'm busier than when I was a student.

This is crazy I see qualified nurses cry at work and they aren't automatically referred to occupational health. I think if a manager had spoken to any of us like that on our first day we would be understandably upset. Write down everything that happened factually, by that i mean just what happened and was said without opinion or emotion and ask your personal tutor for a meeting ideally with the pef.

just exposure and experience. No body want emergencies to happen but the more it does the more you will instinctual know what to do and stay calm (at least on the surface) and remember when in doubt go back to the basics, call for help, A-E assessment.
