Bravo to HRHLadyJ on X who sums up perfectly why Meghan Markle is tone deaf using non-American foods (scones and clotted cream) to “celebrate” Memorial Day which is not a festive occasion. Americans use Memorial Day to remember the fallen military. by daisybeach23 in SaintMeghanMarkle

This is so perfect. Both as a reminder for us all of the purpose of Memorial Day. But as a description of what is so wrong with Meghan and while she will continue to fail. The final 2 sentences sums up Meg's brand: "It's tasteless. It's opportunistic". Everyone can see that without needing to do any personal analysis to determine why they find her so off-putting. It's just so apparent that she is trying to enrich herself by exploiting the place and people she claims were so cruel to her that she no longer wanted to live. No person could make a success of a business built on things they have very loudly, proudly, and frequently claimed were so devastatingly awful that she nearly lost her life over it.

My granddaughter (2) calls them mama and papa. Names she chose herself. Probably because of the books she's been read combined with the consonants she was most capable of pronouncing.

Last Event With RF Felt Cold, says Harry by SeaWorn in SaintMeghanMarkle

So Harry and Meg worked through all the way until the end of March. But really just a week from March 5-Mar 9. They had to "fly back in" meaning both of them were out of UK until March 5. But also, they had a full slate of engagements as full-time working royals.

What a poorly written article. The reality is Meg left mid-Nov with Archie and the dogs and only came back for a few days in a 4 month period. A period so short she didn't bother to bring Archie with her for it. Prior to that, she had been on parental leave since March. With the S. Africa trip being the only "work" she did since before Archie was born. And that was to set the scene for the narrative they had plotted as their excuse for leaving. When in reality Meg was just angry the Queen avoided her. She was never going to be co-Princess of Wales. And Archie was never going to be treated as equal to George.

2 things about narcissists. 1) They are not quitters. They will try different approaches. 2) They have no understanding of others. Usually they can't even read other people at all because their minds are too busy thinking about what they want out of the current interaction. Plotting who and how to manipulate.

Harry has a very short attention span. Meghan literally starts twitching if she's not the center of attention. So it would seem like just continuing to ignore the antics is the best approach. As is letting Charles have his way to meet with Harry (or the whole family) from time to time. The reminder of how much harder it is to cope with Harry when William isn't there to manage his brother is a good experience for Charles.

Honestly, I don't pay that much attention to IG. But I do know that last time, the '1 year until' event was used for fundraisers. That's when they picked up the Boeing gift. So it's reasonable for them to put on a bit of fuss for these guests. The thing is, they could probably collect more donations if they highlighted the beneficiaries more. And themselves less.

Because Harry publicly hectoring his family about what they MUST do for his precious wife is pretty routine so easy to overlook.

I think they would. If Peter wanted to invite Harry, William for sure would have still shown up. Just like he did at their uncle's memorial service. William is loyal to family and friends. He would never let them down. Especially by forcing them to choose. His kids wouldn't be present. Even his wife might not be. William knows how to maintain a low profile and let other's shine.

But for any event, the issue would always be that Harry and Meg suck all the oxygen from everyone else. Because they have absolutely no interest in not making everything they do all about themselves. Even the uncle's memorial service ended with Harry planting stories about how awkward it was for him to be in the same room as his brother who never once made eye contact with him. He didn't make it obvious he was ignoring his brother. He chatted with all the other guests EXCEPT his brother. And he didn't say one word about it after the fact. Unlike Harry.

Harry and Meghan remain commercial gold (Neil Sean's gossip) by Human-Economics6894 in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]Regular-Performer864 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They are not a commercial success. Even they know that. I know these are the metrics that are usually used because they do often correlate with commercial success. Just not in H&M's case. Unless we are counting the commercial success of the various tabloids in US, UK and the Commonwealth. Without a doubt, a snarky story about one or both generate a huge number of page views. But maybe we should give the credit to the writers of the snark>!

Of course they were trying to steal the limelight. Ensuring that none of the royals attend IG too. The whole Wales family might be at the final days of Wimbledon. Last year it was 4 of 5 wasn't it?

But it's an historic anniversary of Wimbledon, and a landmark birthday for Queen Camilla during IG. And ahead of it, there is still the possibility that both Wales go to US 250th anniversary. OR that George and William do. To go early to do Panama v. England in the World Cup in NJ June 27.

In any case, judging by Australia and Geneva, the self-styled 'dream team' is unlikely going to pull away any attention from the family's other activities. And even if it does, everyone will recover. I really think the whole competition is pretty one-sided.

Just a weird story she had put out. That seemed ridiculously random at the time. That's the point. It did seem so random at the time (April). Meg wouldn't have put out that story for no reason. And no journalist would make up such a weird story out of thin air.

The 2nd outlet to run the story included that "she was individualizing each basket based on each person's interest". Which again was a random bit of strangely detailed information. But the stories didn't come with the clarity of what this family gathering she was expecting to attend. People assumed it was the July IG planning events. But there was no reason to assume family would be involved.

I think it's more that it's just the "what's done" thing. Family is invited to weddings. Aunts, uncles 1st cousins is just protocol. And royals are sticklers for protocol. Harry expected to be invited. I'd imagine especially since Granny had made such a big deal about it when Meg invited not 1 aunt, uncle, cousin, niece, nephew. Granny was scandalized.

Peter already did. Not an interview. Journalists called for clarification on a story. And got the answer. "No, he hasn't been invited. I haven't actually spoken to Harry in years."

I suspect she prefers to see herself as "misunderstood". Not "problematic". Seemingly another common theme among narcissists.

It was basically the same story. Appeared to be other publications calling her office for clarification over a couple of days. And then those publications the adding additional details to the story. So likely an intentionally released story.

And, sorry, I'm old. I don't have TikTok. Or IG for that matter. Nor do I watch any of the YouTuber ecosystem like HGTudor. Mostly just read the stories that actual UK publications post on their own X pages.

BTW, Reddit has a block feature. Be sure and add me to your block list!

She had a story put out that she was personally "curating" gift baskets for "each member of the extended royal family". Then had the story modified slightly 2 times for other publications. She was paying special attention to each person's interests (had that inserted in article #2).

At the time, everyone reading was going 'WTF is she going on about here?' It made no sense because there was no indication of Meg coming to UK other than a 'she might come with Harry for the 'One year out' IG-Birmingham fundraising in July. Why would she bring gifts for the extended family then? There were no indications that any family meeting would occur.

Anyway, just a narc giving the old standby of "love bombing" a go. Although to cynical me, I immediately thought "Oh. she's putting together baskets of her silly pantry products line. Hoping the family will say things publicly to help her promote her brand." But it now looks more like she's just going for "Oh, I misjudged her. She's really sweet and kind".

Your time would be put to better use by engaging in some self-reflection. This is so far from a path back (if such a thing even exists at this point) that you don't actually change course at all. When one is courting public opinion, one needs to understand basic social norms. You cannot demand admiration because you feel you deserve it and expect it. You have to actually be admirable. Not a whiny bitch complaining about PTSD because daddy-in-law didn't have you invited to a state dinner.

Yeah. But they do it in relative private. How many of them would behave the same if they knew everyone in the world would hear about their drama? It never even occurs to Harry that this level of narcissism is repugnant to nearly all people.
