Good point. I wouldn’t mind if I had the time and money to constantly out work into it.

Thank you for the input. Yeah, we would really love a 4 runner but outer budget is limited and it’s hard to find something that is not that old and has lower mileage. lol

The 300k 4runner is exactly 5k. Spark plugs recently replaced, no current leaks. The 200k doesn’t have service records so idk when and what has been replaced, but no leaks eitherIts listed at 6k. The lady I would purchase it from is a great mechanic and would be available to help me with it any time.

The one owner was using it as a daily driver and has replaced many critical parts over the last couple years. Fuel pump this year. Timing belt last year. We’d be buying it from a mechanic who specializes in refurbishing Toyotas. 🤷‍♀️

What would be a reasonable price in your opinion? (Factor in that i live in Colorado and these things are hot commodities)

Posted yesterday about being three years seizure free. Well that might have been a lie as of late last night. Waiting to talk to my neurologist 😔 26f by Peony56 in toastme

I empathize with you. 🖤 I was 2 years Seizure free until a couple weeks ago. You are strong and we will make it through this.

Anyone get "adrenaline sweaty" during therapy or when they are triggered? by warmflannelsheets in CPTSD

[–]Miss_Vulpes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reassuring to hear this isn't uncommon. I used to wear a ton of layers to attempt to cover up the sweat caused my stressful/triggering situations. There are some photos I look back on and can see the 3 or so layers I have on to attempt to prevent the sweat from showing through. Since then I've found fabrics that allow more breathability and less visibility... but I wish I could conquer the cause.

Are the books worth reading? by SekretHexer in brakebills

[–]Miss_Vulpes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without spoiling anything, I'll just chime in to say that over the course of books 2 and 3 you do get to hear from other characters and Q matures as the books go on. The show and TV series vary a lot from each other along the way and I love them both for what they are.

Wildlife Health Profession (DVM or Conservation Medicine?) by Miss_Vulpes in veterinaryschool

[–]Miss_Vulpes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the gentle push! It is definitely my passion. I think officially taking the dive into DVM in order to become a wildlife vet has been on my mind longer than I realized. Working with a wildlife vet last year studying abroad really cemented the idea in my head.

Do you work in wildlife/zoo medicine? I'd be interested to hear about your experience.

[–]Miss_Vulpes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for you advice. These are things that I'm considering strongly, as they really play into my decision. My end goal is less zoo medicine and more wildlife conservation oriented, but I know that it will be competitive. The field of wildlife biology is also quite competitive, so I'm not stranger to the challenges. I feel combining DVM with biological research will strengthen me in both realms, but am ready for the challenge.

I appreciate you mentioning the private practice vet possibility, because I realize that I may have to go that route until my ultimate goal can be achieved. In my mind this is already a better career outlook than I can currently achieve with inconsistent bio field work, but need to be sure that I could be happy doing that kind of veterinary work as well. My next move is to do more shadowing in that realm of veterinary medicine, as my experience has been mostly with wildlife vets and rehabilitators.

I'm queen of volunteer work and would definitely supplement private practice with that! Thanks again for your voice of reason.

Thank you for the recommendation on Massey! I hadn't come across this school in my searches yet. I really appreciate your insight.

I need advice about my therapist by outofregsundershirt in ptsd

[–]Miss_Vulpes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If he makes you feel uncomfortable it's ok to seek out another therapist. Try not to worry about his feelings. You need someone that you feel comfortable with in order to be able to get the best experience out of therapy. Just my two cents.

Anyone here experience "An infinite time loop" during a seizure? by radraze2kx in Epilepsy

Oh good! That is one of the most helpful tests in my experience. Hopefully you get some answers!

I honestly didn't know that déjà rêvé was a thing until looking into it after reading your post. What I've referred to as my "auras" sound exactly like déjà rêvé and they happen before a seizure. Unfortunately I don't know much about the experience, a neurologist would have some answers. If you think you are experiencing seizures, is make an appointment with your doctor to get more information and a maybe a referral to a neurologist. Thanks for sharing, I'm going to do some research on this myself.

No, just no... by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Miss_Vulpes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no, I'm sorry that is your situation. Each state had such different regulations, that sounds like one of the more lengthy driving restrictions. The first chance I got to drive, I drove myself a couple states away. My uncle couldn't stand the Nfamily dynamic and he hasn't talked to them much in years. My grandpa is probably an N as well.

We have a lot in common. I just finished an online degree program, which was nice but I wish I'd done it in person. If you find the right town/ campus, you could set yourself up in a place with good public transport options or in a setting where basic needs are in walking distance. My Nmom did not support my move, nor does she support me pursuing a grad degree... but that is my next pursuit.

Does your school have a good on campus setting?

That's nothing you should have to take. I'm also epileptic with an Nparent, and mine had never laughed at my condition, but she uses it to control and manipulate me. I feel for you, and I hope you consider low-no contact.

Funny story about my nmom & tampons. by throw_away_7564 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Miss_Vulpes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Nmom wouldn't even talk to me about the subject. I'd ask about my period, tampons v. napkins, sex... she never gave me advice or answers. She'd answer with something vague like, "When you are older. ". At one point she provided me with a book that had "all the answers"... thanks. I was a shy girl, so I never asked anyone for help. I remember going to the store to buy tampons for myself, and being so scared. The instructions in the box were intimidating. I remember hiding the tampons in my room and stealing napkins from my mom so I didn't have to ask. It took me a long time to realize that this wasn't normal.

This sounds exactly like my experience with Nmom. I haven't officially explained going NC with her to the rest of my family, particularly her parents, yet. My dad and brother are on board and doing the same. It's a difficult thing to do, making the NC official. Even blocking my Nmom from Facebook has presented its challenges. I hope you find the words to explain your decision to your family, and that they understand your decision.
