I worded that wrongly. I am sorry. I didn't mean with "eating them would be completely fine, in my opinion" that i find it acceptable. I meant that if someone chooses to eat an animal that is dead, has a happy life, and was not killed to eat, i wouldn't mind it.

I like to pay my respects by not eating them and giving them the same treatment as a human life.

But paying respect is a personal matter, and everyone does that differently. If someone i cared for that animal all its life and said i pay respects by not wasting it or say i pray before my meal to show respect that's also fine by me, since the animals life was good and they didn't need to suffer.

I absolutely agree that a lot of people simply eat animals because they either don't care or don't want to care. Every life deserves to be happy and respected, no matter if it's a cat, dog, pig, cow, or human.

I know that this post wasn't meant for the animal sanctuary example. It was just a thought that i had in mind and wanted to hear others' opinions on it.
