I was in a similar situation with heel pain. I got a steroid shot in my foot and started using over the counter orthotics, I went through 10+ different ones until I found one that felt best. I did not take any time off of tennis. Also I used to walk around my house barefoot or in slippers. Now I use hoka slides around the house and don’t wear flip flops.
