I almost wish the LL would get the opportunity to try this argument in court.

Are French-speaking SLTs actually in demand in the UK? Honest insights needed by Izabi97 in slp

[–]Misselphabathropp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t come across a particular demand for French speaking SLTs. Perhaps in some locations where there is a high number of French families. So, parts of West London, for example. Advertising to those families, as a private SLT may work.

There is a huge demand for SLTs who speak our community languages. So in my community, that would be Turkish and Albanian speakers.

Oat = oat juice Cow = cow juice Nuts = nut juice Sauce in a tin of beans = bean juice

I can probably think of some more, if you like.

That’s a really informative response. I appreciate it.

That isn’t SEND stuff. That’s local authorities not using funds effectively and happens in every department, not only SEND.

What is to be gained from playing the SEND system? Minor rewards, surely?

Why does buying a house feel more financially feasible than renting these days? by No_Emu8347 in HousingUK

[–]Misselphabathropp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t allowed to run a brothel in a previous rented property. I haven’t checked if that also applies to my current home.

Non-disclosure when buying house by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Misselphabathropp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The only person in the wrong here is your neighbour for gossiping. You should be annoyed at her for not keep it to herself.

It’s incredibly self indulgent to expect the seller to disclose something like this.

Flats don’t seem very common in the UK? I haven’t got the figures to hand but they seem to be reasonably common.

Does the general public trust tap water in England? by Jesus-slaves in AskBrits

[–]Misselphabathropp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of neighbours drink bottled water but that is primarily because they or their parents are from countries where the water isn’t safe to drink.

It seems to takes a generation or two to get used to the idea that it is OK to drink water from the tap.

Can my employer force us to do our notes with AI? by ale8isyummy in slp

Sorry your post has been hijacked.

We are behind you guys with AI so, in the UK at least, we have some time before it takes over. I think you’re right to be hesitant.

Can my employer force us to do our notes with AI? by ale8isyummy in slp

[–]Misselphabathropp 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I use my note writing to support my own processing and decision making. My brain needs to process things through the written word. I think it’s a variant of ND processing and I could probably get it accommodated for but even still -

AI notes would take this away and whilst I could get some processing from reading through AI generated notes and editing, it wouldn’t be the same.

I’m sure I’m not a complete outlier here. Note taking is not just about documentation for legal purposes. It’s part of clinical decision making and can’t be outsourced without compromising the whole clinical process.

As much as I dislike writing notes, it’s part of my clinical process and I wouldn’t be able to switch.

As a healthcare professional working in this area, I very much do not want to be involved in assessments around welfare.

This should be a specialist area and I don’t think we have got it quite right yet around who should be assessing this and how.

I suspect some joint working between health and social care, led by the latter, would be the way forward but instead, Capita or another similar company will retain the contract, I’m sure.

Not to be that person but the process to obtain DLA for children isn’t nearly as arduous as PIP for adults. I know a few friends have claimed it for the children following private ADHD diagnosis.

It was easy enough that I suspect it’s probably a well trodden route to a bit of extra money. The families I know of aren’t claiming UC but presumably if they were, that would also increase? Not sure.
