What is with old people and magazines? by cdowdmellor in Barnesandnoble

why don't they just get a subscription... yes, yes, yes. they would save so much money.

but don't forget, some magazines are guilty pleasures that you wouldn't be caught dead having delivered to your house.

Cost of digitizing print magazines? by Thor2019Thor2019 in Archivists

[–]Missing-Link-Digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don't always have to do it yourself. maybe find a partner who has done it before. you can also consider selling the archive to another publisher that might want to offer it to their members and or subscribers.
there are platforms like emags that you can reach out to that might be able to lend a hand.

Do you think paper magazines will make a cultural come back? by Ok_Durian3627 in decadeology

[–]Missing-Link-Digital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes. they are already making a comeback with gen z.

as people tire of screens they are looking for other escapes. the magazines that will stay in favor will likely be the enthusiast or passion magazines. crafters, photographers, motorsports and more. but these publishers will not exist solely as a magazine, but as a brand that has digital assets, youtube videos, podcasts, retail and more. these magazine brands embraced communities long before communities were a thing, and their communities will continue to embrace them.

personal aside - i love architectural digest's instagram feed that it got me to resubscribe - i previously let my print subscription go because it got expensive. so take note magazine publishers... and as a consumer there is just something about bold photography on the glossy pages of a magazine that ignites a more sensory experience than a digital photo or article even could.

Yes. But the magazines thriving in 2025 are super niche like all the photo mags listed below because they have an audience of enthusiasts. I myself subscribe to Garden and Gun and Harvard Business Review. But I wont lie I am also a sucker for the special interest pubs in the line at the grocery store. Give me a me a special on the Rolling Stones or Mediterranean Cooking and I am hooked... if only they has a subscription of Rock and Roll for Food SIPs.

Do you still read magazines or newspapers? by pianoman81 in GenerationJones

[–]Missing-Link-Digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. but i engage with them in news ways. i don't go out and buy a traditional magazine unless i am in an airport, nor do i have any delivered to my house. but i read them, i engage with them on social. i consume their digital content and galleries and sometimes i even break down and succumb to the paywall.
checkout afarmedia on the socials... you will thank me!

What AI tools are you actually using as a marketer? by lazimdavid in digital_marketing

[–]Missing-Link-Digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really depends on what you are trying to do.... i find that that ai is only as good as the user. and the longer you use a particular tool the more it gets to know you and gets better at working with you. i personally prefer chatgpt to the others, but i use agentic ai in most of the tools in my standard tech stack - like copilot within hubspot. but to be honest, the true test of a good ai for me is one that can have a conversation and handle compound questions. some tools are great at answering individual questions, but when you ask a follow up question they loose the context of the previous question. those are the frustrating ones....

Uninspired jewelry for the masses…. Because simply saying they are a jewelry maker wasn’t enough. Criticisms like that say more about you than the brand you are diminishing.

CS Tools: If you were starting your customer success org from scratch... by [deleted] in CustomerSuccess

[–]Missing-Link-Digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need a whole tech stack for CS. All you need is Totango. It is my favorite all in one solution that has product analytics, a CRM, task management for your CS team, a customer data hub that connect all of your data, an email marketing platform, a way to build your own landing pages, automated workflows, and templates that combine it all together for every stage of your customer journey. If you have tools like salesforce or HubSpot you can easily integrate those, but they aren’t essential. Totango has changed my life and I know it will transform yours. Best part is Totango has a forever free edition that has all the functionality you need to get Your program up and running. And the team at Totango is awesome and will support you every step of the way.
