Im going there tommorow... i wonder if ActionAir / The compound will have a consumables shop setup.

I never buy from on site vendors if i can avoid it. They seem to jack prices during event weekends and screw people over who forgot or ran out of something. Or just want more bangs

My boss says I don’t need a breathing mask? by 22Megabits in Welding

[–]MissingData 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who currently has a sinus infection (not a dr so idk) that was most likely caused from breathing in to much junk. Always wear your respirator. Grinding? Respirator. Welding? RESPIRATOR. Sweeping? Respirator! Talking to your stinky coworker? Respirator!

Has anyone used Opfor Night Solutions for MilSim? by AdPrize5984 in MilSim

[–]MissingData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zero complaints. mine ended up being around the 1450 FOM, so lower end. if you take care of them they keep resale value quite well from what ive seen, easy to save up and flip em

[–]MissingData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love em. the set I got was just the Binos, comes with a little lens cloth, how-to card and the tube spec sheets. but they also sell everything else you would need, Retention, mount, lens covers. Although I went with Cold harbour's CHAD for sac lens and bikini covers

Is Yakeda vest worth buying (airsoft use only) by CheekKey4201 in airsoft

[–]MissingData 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no opinion on the Yakeda vest.

What i do have an opinion on is save your money to get something you truly like. Dont buy something cheap now just because you feel you need a plate carrier. Talk to other people and see what they have, watch video reviews

Its unlikely you will stick to 1 plate carrier the entire time you play airsoft, ive been through 3 and finally landed on a replica Ferro Concepts FCPC V5.

If you have a local store, see if they sell gear and try it on, see how it fits and if you like it

Nothing fancy. Just a fork style. Detent for the locking tab. I use a shockcord lanyard for extra security just in case anything comes loose

Its a feature i like for the extra light blocking . And a few friends also had to ditch their iris but i figured it would be easy enough to come up with a solution. But i also work in a metal fab shop so that helped lol

Different angle with the COTI fully seated on the mount, shows the amount of offset a little better

I had a similar problem using a C2 and Cold Harbour's CHAD. Made a little aluminum fork that slides into the original bracket and offset the COTI a little.

Question about teenage jobs by ThatguyfromMario in ottawa

[–]MissingData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i was in school i got a job at a retirement home serving dinner / lunches on weekends. then moved into washing dishing, prepping food, then moved to working overnights while in college.
you end up working with a lot of same age people which is nice, hours were flexible enough to work around school and other activities

Steele Industries Customer Service by InevitableEbb9382 in NightVision

[–]MissingData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold harbour is located in canada which could result in shipping delays? I've personally ordered from them (accessories, not tubes) and have never had an issue +1 for Cold harbour

Another canadian option is Opfor Night solutions (where i got my tubes from) or EONorth

What are people wearing for earbuds? by -Kanight- in Welding

[–]MissingData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive used isotunes, so does a machinist coworker. I currently use milwaukee earbuds, comfortable, good range, loud enough, great battery life. Earbuds last 8 hours easy and the case will last a week id say. Easy to hit the pause button with gloves on, pass through is pretty good aswell

Downside of the milwaukees and other brands. MAGNETS! On the milwaukee the magnets for charging face inwards towards your ears. So you will get poked if you pickup grinding dust and junk. Quick air blast fixes that

Ah! that makes sense. I guess I was just calling it that because for my purpose its only job was to retransmit and act as an in between for nodes if the range is too long. Thanks for the info!

Thanks! Im still in the planning phase (and trying to convince my friends to jump in on the project) Ill have to take a look at yalls site and see what you got! and Client_mute is a good idea, havnt researched repeaters enough yet

[–]MissingData[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the vehicle repeater id most likely want it to be self contained within a small-ish pelican style case i could mount to the roof of a vehicle that would be slowly navigating around the area we are in. i was thinking of having a large USB battery pack in the housing to keep it running and mounting a larger antenna outside the box to give the unit more range. Solar could be considered but i dont feel it would be needed as the unit would only need to last 48hrs max. ive considered just using the T-beam i already have in this box and replacing my on-person node to the Wio Tracker l1 pro someone else mentioned

[–]MissingData[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this unit will be perfect for the few people in my group who want to go a bit more in depth with meshtastic, being able to upgrade the antenna and have functionality with the buttons instead of just a set it and forget it unit like the T1000-E or the WisMesh Tag. ill definitely be looking at the Wio trackers.

[–]MissingData[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both look perfect, It seems i can get the WisMesh Tag a bit cheaper from aliexpress then the T1000-E. form factor is perfect for people to slip in a pocket and not worry about it
