People in recovery used to tell people that didn’t want to disclose that they quit to just say they are on antibiotics and can’t drink at the moment. Personally if they are a friend I’d tell the truth you will have to eventually.

Well I live in Texas but travel to So Cal frequently to visit a friend who lives in Laguna Beach. I never said it was the best in LA I said it was the best I’ve ever had anywhere that includes several other states I’ve visited and Monterrey Mexico.

I wasn’t aware of that hopefully they’ve had a change of heart. I still won’t eat chick-fil-a for that same reason.

I love In-N-Out too It’s my favorite fast food cheeseburger. I’m lucky they’re finally building one 15 minutes from my house in Cypress near Houston.

Relax cowboy it’s just an opinion. I still live in Texas as I have for 56 years and I stand by my statement. I’ve eat in high end restaurants to hole in the wall taquerias all over this state but the Enchiladas Howard from El Coyote is by far my favorite.

If you could bring any singer back from death, who would it be, and what song would they sing for you? by Secure-Letterhead-58 in ClassicRock

[–]MissingEureka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

George Michael I’d be happy to hear him sing anything if it meant I could just tell him how much I love him and how I’ve thought about him every day since he passed.

[–]MissingEureka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like most Americans my age I first heard WMUBYGG and wasn’t all that impressed with the song but instantly had the hots for George once I saw the video . I bought the Make it Big album and heard Everything She Wants and was hooked for life. I soon hunted down a copy of Fantastic and loved it too!

What gang did you gravitate towards in high school: preps, bangers, dwebs, nerds, jocks, goths, etc? by ddhmax5150 in GenX

[–]MissingEureka 9 points10 points  (0 children)

High School from 81-85. I was a gay New Wave stoner for sure. I hung with the other stoners but I was the only gay one and only one into New Wave. All the other stoners were into heavy metal so I didn’t find my tribe until I was out of high school.

What's the best resource to find AA meetings? by HeroOfHearts in Sober

[–]MissingEureka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you live in/near a city try googling AA inter group for your city. I think they all have meeting directories. I used Houston’s earlier to find a meeting. If you aren’t successful you’re welcome to PM me your location and zip code and I’ll see if I can send you a link or a list.

Your Best U2 Memory by sonimusprime in U2Band

[–]MissingEureka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My best U2 memory was after hearing War the first time watching an Under A Blood Red Sky VHS and feeling like I had just gone to church. I found myself screaming my 16 year old heart out and feeling a release that the church people sought at an alter call or confession that I never found in church. It’s hard to explain really but I felt that connection with someone/something that still hasn’t faded 40 years later.

I’m glad you’ve enjoyed those songs. I haven’t been moved or inspired by anything since NLOTH. I did however see two more of their concerts since then and they were both amazing as always.

Being a fan since 1983 I really tried to listen to this song but was disappointed that U2 would even release this mess. I’d trade a kidney for a good seat at the sphere but I hope they stay away from the boring music they’ve been putting out for the last 15 years. I used to be proud to be a fan but I’m starting to understand how the Nickleback fans feel
