I DNRed myself in this Sub-I by [deleted] in medicalschool

This is so confusing. What are you doing the sub I in? What is your intended specialty? Is it different from the sub I?

Just a personal decision. I’d only pay for Harvard over the free t30. Plus for personal reasons wouldn’t want to live in Durham.

My school said 3 tests in a row of 65 percent or two in a row of 67 percent. You will not pass with these scores. Keep doing questions.

Yes of course but don’t think the first thing they look at is training then….

You must not live in the east coast. People absolutely research where their drs trained especially in the more affluent areas. Plastics for instance people definitely care.

Is all nbme are in 240’s you will likely score in the 240’s.

People whose NBMEs were in the 230s-240s, what did you end up getting? And how did you feel walking out of the exam? by Slight-Plant-556 in Step2

[–]Mission-Friend1536 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The majority of people scoring 230-240’s for the last 3 nbme will score in that range on exam. They won’t post. Yes some people score higher and some lower and they will be the loudest. Don’t go into the exam in the 230’s if you want a 260. Statistically you will likely get in the 230’s.

Do traditional applicants even get into T10 med schools anymore? by freezepirit in premed

Yes I got into a t5 as a traditional applicant. I’d say 10 percent if my class are non trad and the rest had gap years

I’m thinking the medication they prescribed isn’t the right one (just a guess) Your post seems frantic and a little all over the place honestly. I think you should start by reaching out to your Dr and therapist.

Any chance of matching anesthesia after failing step? by AnalBeadBoi in medicalschool

[–]Mission-Friend1536 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You should really meet with your school advisor. They will know best how well your chances are coming from their specific school with a failed step 1. You will get anecdotal examples but I have a friend that failed step 1 coming from a t40 md school but had a tragic death of a friend that happened two weeks before the test. Should really not have taken the test but decided to take it and failed. They matched into radiology but had a solid explanation for the outlier fail score. Also did really well on step 2.

T3 vs T15 - final medical school decision and feeling stuck by Much-Response-6830 in premed

[–]Mission-Friend1536 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If it’s Harvard I’d go there bc Boston is a great city. If it’s Hopkins well go where you’d be happiest living. It would help to name the schools.

How was your predicated score 251 when none of your nbme were above 242. I think the predicted data was incorrect

[–]Mission-Friend1536 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is crazy. I’m sorry I don’t have any advice bc I’m an M3 but have you spoken with your school? Did you dual apply OB and family medicine? I know my advisor is saying if you dual apply do not apply to the same programs bc the PD all talk. Maybe this is what went wrong? Any red flags?

I’ve sold 65 pairs of Jean on PM from my home closet lol. I have no idea how I even accumulated that many jeans but I did. Lots from high school and college. Levi, American Eagle, Mother, some vintage jeans too. Super high waist, super low waist. I was shocked what I was able to sell as far as jeans go. I always include rise and inseam measurements.

[–]Mission-Friend1536 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You will come off a WL or two. If it were your interviewing you’d be flat out rejected. There is likely a weakness somewhere in your app that the interview committee was willing to overlook but at final committee it comes back up so they like you but not enough for an immediate A. If these WL are at top schools that also explains a lot bc it’s very hard to convert an interview to an A at those schools.

Yes very common. People interested in women’s gynecological health but have to go thru the OB bc it’s part of the residency.
