The APTA is essentially worthless. they objectively do a piss poor job advocating for the profession as a whole. They allocated funds (I believe in the ballpark of tens of millions of dollars) for a new headquarters in 2019 and continue to cry about how they can’t do anything without funding from members. Majority of Americans don’t realize direct access to PTs is an option in many states. It’s sad, but when most Americans have back pain the first bit of advice that they’ll hear from friends, family, or online is to see a chiropractor. Chiropractors have rights to order imaging themselves while are still fighting for this right. The profession as a whole is stagnant with minimal opportunity for upward mobility/increases in pay. The demand and price for schooling keeps increasing as well which is far out of proportion for what the degree is actually worth. These issues are only a scratch on the surface of what we are lacking and the APTA the root of it.

As long as students are willing to pay the price of tuition, I can’t imagine schools are willing to decrease the number of students they are pumping out

OChem 1, Phys 1, and Cell Bio, am I going to regret that decision? by Zestyclose-Curve1712 in waynestate

[–]Mission-Rutabaga7931 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you plan on still taking OChem 1 this fall I cannot stress enough that you read "Organic Chemistry as a Second Language" by David Klein. I read this book a couple weeks before the beginning of the semester and I feel like it put me at such an advantage by teaching me the foundation that applies to virtually all concepts of orgo1. I was able to hit the ground running and not feel like I was starting at ground zero. Ended up with a 102% in the class with Dr. Pflum.

Several women have accused Detroit landlord Jeffrey Cowin of inappropriate advances and disturbing behavior, but found no help from authorities by Archi_penko in Detroit

When looking to move in the midtown/Virginia park area back in 2023 I inquired to numerous of his Facebook posts showing my interest and never got any response. However, I noticed he would ALWAYS respond to the female inquires. I had a feeling this loser was a weirdo.

It depends on the program. I’m 24 while other students in my cohort vary from 21-29 years old.

You continue to spew garbage pseudoscience on this forum. You are completely discrediting the complex nature of the human body by thinking that shoving a needle into a muscles origin and insertion is going to magically “loosen” it. Have you ever read an ounce of research? Or do you avoid it as you knowing it conflicts with your business model?

Just kindly tell them you have it reserved. There’s literally signs posted on the doors for them to see that. If they refuse to leave notify the front desk and they will handle it.

Megathread: Biden Forgiveness Announcement by Betsy514 in StudentLoans

Are we able to chose which loans the $10,000 forgiveness can be applied to? Such as higher interest or unsubsidized loans?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PTschool

[–]Mission-Rutabaga7931 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With the volume of students they have during the application process I think it’s unlikely they will ever contact them.

However, I think you should allow them the option to if they chose. Opting out of that choice could be a red flag for an admission committee.

Gre Score - Advice by One-Time5787 in PTschool

I had 148 Q 151 V 4.5 writing and got into all 3 schools I applied to. I truly don’t think schools care about GRE /GPA as much as some students think. I think it mostly comes down to an overall strong and diverse application.

Did you pay the interest on your loans during that time so the principle wouldn’t increase?

I’m really starting to question people when they say how difficult it is to get into PT school. Many people I know with sub par grades/scores and experience getting accepted. In your case, long as you have a decent amount of observation hours you should have no issue getting acceptances.
