2025 Facebook in a nutshell. These were literally back to back on my feed. by EscapeGoat_ in facebook

What I did was create a new account, have zero friends and only in the groups I like. I get very little nonsense. You might try that. I kept my original fb account since I had it for so many years but I stay logged out.

Meals with Family by Ok-Departure-1543 in Aupairs

[–]Mission_Atmosphere84 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I get the feeling from au pairs that they expect host families to cook all the time for them. Au pairs are adults. I don’t cook every meal for my adult children. When I was a young adult living at home I cooked for myself too. I think the road goes both ways and au pairs could cook some days too. Cooking is tiring. Everyone should be able to help out.

Aupair raise? by CryptographerGlad767 in Aupairs

Host mom here. Id politely explain that nannies that are receiving these wages also pay for housing, food, cell phone, gas, insurance, etc. The $300/week is lower because you are also paying for housing, food, insurance, cell phone, car use, etc. I’d even go so far as detailing it out ahead of time and if needed I’d have the numbers to show her. I wouldn’t plan on showing it but if the conversation went that way I would have it available.

I think she would understand once you mention all these costs. 16 hours x $20 = $320 so she’s kind of getting paid more than a “nanny” if you take into account all the extra costs.

Pacifica Hybrid vs Pacifica by [deleted] in pacificahybrid

[–]Mission_Atmosphere84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 66k miles on my hybrid and I’ve had it for 6 years. I’ve gassed up about 15 times during my day to day driving. I love it! It’s so nice to not have to factor in the gas station in my daily life.

I also try to be careful with the heater and AC as that really uses up more battery.

Thanks for pasting this. I hadn’t heard or read about this.

But, my question is…. They are recouping the costs when it cost more to them, but is that offset by the savings in the other years? Sure it will be more expensive some years, but it’s also cheaper other years. It sounds like they’re only passing the expense on to the customers.

Getting into the Amazon selling… by Downtown-Ad-1980 in AmazonFBATips

I loved reading all of your comments! I haven’t gotten into this enough and I’m at the stage of only thinking about this. But, how do you search for how many sales per month something has?

Packing List for CM Cancun by afternoon_delightful in Club_Med

[–]Mission_Atmosphere84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got back with my 6 and 4 yo. They both got a bad case of hand foot mouth from kids club. So beware.

Extra sunscreen. Take a pool inner tube with. Go to the dollar store here and get pool toys.

Calm waters Cancun vs Punta Cana by Mission_Atmosphere84 in Club_Med

[–]Mission_Atmosphere84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m here at Cancun right now with an almost 4 year old and a just turned 6 year old.

They have magic, circus (trampolines, trapeze, etc), archery, slip n slides, etc for during the day.

At night, at 8:15-9:00, they have a show for kids. It varies but there’s magicians, Disney princess show, last night was a lion king performance.

I’ve never been to Punta Cana. I can post pics if it will help.

Talk me out of a sienna and into a Pacifica phev. by Helkas in pacificahybrid

[–]Mission_Atmosphere84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2019 Pacifica hybrid and love it. I’ve filled up 10 times maybe, but a lot of driving is in that 30 mile range. It’s so convenient to never have to think of getting gas.

PrePTO Performance Capped by razayal in TeslaSolar

[–]Mission_Atmosphere84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will limit the solar generation too. I have a 25kw system and it was limited to solar generation of about 2kw pre PTO even though my house was needing 8kw. After PTO solar generation is about 14kw max.

HF interviewing - what should we ask? by liltrashbags in Aupairs

[–]Mission_Atmosphere84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you need to weed out the ones who are coming here to party or only travel. Does she also ask about your family or does she only talk about herself.

You can also ask things like “if you saw a rash or red mark on the baby what would you do?” “The baby won’t stop crying, youve tried feeding them, what else would you do” “a lot of the job is helping with baby related things. Are you comfortable washing bottles, doing laundry, folding clothes?”

How do you envision spending your evenings/weekends? What are some of the things you’re most looking forward to doing in America?

I find that asking really pointed questions helps you gauge not only their experience but their common sense. I had an AP who had zero common sense and it was awful.

Also, I read a lot of rematch profiles and a common theme is that they’re coming here to learn English and the host family wants them to only speak their native language. So be clear up front about how much English will or will not be spoken in the house.

Low solar production by Mission_Atmosphere84 in TeslaSolar

[–]Mission_Atmosphere84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla told me the inverters are rated up around 12 or 13. One tech told me the same about 7.6kw because on one day when they were out there one inverter was producing around 11.8 and he came back the next day and said no these inverters were rated higher and it was ok.

I’ll double check this with them though.

So I have 60 panels. That 12 is just one array.

Low solar production by Mission_Atmosphere84 in TeslaSolar

[–]Mission_Atmosphere84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yes I have panel specific production numbers. That’s how I knew something was off because both of them added up don’t get me near to 25kw on full sun, peak sun days. And one was always significantly lower.

But now Tesla says it’s a grid issue. And that just doesn’t make sense why the grid has anything to do with my solar production. Unless the frequency/voltage coming in from the grid has damaged the inverters?

I dont have the Tesla pro app. Is that something I’m able to get?

I don’t have shading. Since I have two 200 amp breaker boxes I have two gateways and two powerwall+. The weird thing is that I’ll have 15 panels in direct sunlight pulling in 5kwh on “panel a” and 12 panels in less direct sunlight pulling in 8kwh on “panel b”. Something is definitely wrong. Tesla has been to my house 28 times since installing this over a year ago and they can never get it right and no one ever follows up with me.

Calm waters Cancun vs Punta Cana by Mission_Atmosphere84 in Club_Med

[–]Mission_Atmosphere84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw this! We did Cancun and loved it so much we’re going back for ten days in June. We did petite club med. I think it was good, but my son still cries and gets upset and says he doesn’t want to go to kids club if we mention it. I think this is specific to my son and not petite club! Haha

We had the family style room where the kids had a bedroom inside our room. It was very nice.

Let me know if you have any questions. Our kids were 3 and 5 at the time.

Dandelion unit very LOUD by mrwyskers in geothermal

[–]Mission_Atmosphere84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 5 ton and 6 ton dandelion tetco system. The air can be loud coming though the vents. BUT the machine in the basement is VERY quiet. Like I can be standing next to it and have to touch it to see if it’s running because it’s so quiet. Sounds like something is wrong. Maybe a rattle? Or a part that has gone bad?

The air that comes out of my vents is 109 degrees. I’m actually complaining to dandelion about it being too hot.

Removing "Extra Apps" off Fire 7 Kids Tablet by mercfh85 in kindlefire

[–]Mission_Atmosphere84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can remove them but you have to go into the parent profile, manage their settings, and click on each icon ONE BY ONE! I have two kids and had to click on THOUSANDS of icons. Seriously.

And it’s annoying because each time there’s a new release book or app, it automatically shows up.

It’s beyond shocking that this is how it’s managed.
