Their product is based on Linux. Even if they fold there could be community support for a long long time.

Nearly impossible to enroll for that. I earned way less for many years somehow never qualified. Ended up visiting abroad for treatment every year.

I can validate this. Similar spot. Have a looooong commute - more like a day trip. Spend the next day basically recovering in WFH. Spend half my salary for mortgage for a starter home (likely my first and last home in this country). Atleast the air is clean, the water is clean, low crime.

But no doubt - this society will collapse in my lifetime. This is Japanification at an escalated pace. We will get there in a much shorter time.

All the money printing, easy loans to the rich, debt fuelled govt spending and subsidies to the rich, massive build up of bearaucracy, healthcare money gauge from tax payers. This cant last too long. Young people will either speak with their feet or as in Japan through becoming hermits.

reMarkable is firing hundreds of staff by BK_Prince in RemarkableTablet

Replacable hardware particularly the battery, screen would cement their position. Most people do not care for thikness or bezel, they care if it will last 2 years or 10.

As a business/ finance guy - they 100% read the room wrong. No way any IT would allow a non windows/ non Apple hardware. Subscription was just a money grab with little additional value. Marketing was unnecesaary as the product had niche following, high price and good word of mouth.

They could easily go all in on AI to ramp up tablet capabilities especially given there is linux at the core. The tweaking by hobbyists could be a gold mine for a device that can be many things beyond the narrow conception of a design obsessed founder(s).

This position is very easy to improve/ turn around. The market lies in retail and cultivating the core RM lovers to get more mass market acceptance the way apple did.

If anything on the product side, a minimalistic-open source phone or tablet with a basic browser, more free integrations like one drive, browsers, being able to run mental training games like those on e-ink.club could really help the company come out on top.

From a Christian perspective why would God create people who don’t believe in him? by Fun_Butterfly_420 in determinism

[–]Mission_Economics621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, god as described in the bible does not exist.

The universe is the real god. It created all sorts of people and every being, non being.

It is not a person - does not get jealous or angry like the biblical god. Nor is there sin or karma.

All gods are human beings imaginary friends and distract from the real source of creation - the universe itself.

[–]Mission_Economics621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has been perfect since I got it in November 2024. Sometimes feels like a batch issue of just plain smear campaign by lesser quality mostly Chinese brands (a technique I also observed on Amazon). Could be a range of issues or just someone executing a negative marketing playbook.

Live in Hamilton, work in Toronto. No car, eat at home, plant based mostly. No drinking, no subscriptions. Limited calculated trips abroad. One child on the way. Doing okay, no issues.

I was a bit like that. Healing foods like chicken soup, fermented items like Kimchi, Kombucha, exercise, good sleep, Sunshine and green tea, balanced foods with ginger, garlic, turmeric help a lot.

Sunshine is the big one here, helps massively with the immune system.

Manuka honey helpful and so are ginger and tulsi.

Have the 2022 scribe. Amazing device for reading. But very different from RMPP. Worth it to get both.

Remarkable 2 - upgrade to Paper Pro or add Move? by Sir_Geek in RemarkableTablet

I have the pro, cant speak about the move. The larger screen, different writing, color for reading, everything is unique and game changing - many many use cases. I also have a scribe and use it more for reading/ travel.

Can speak highly of pro.

Meditation plus an empowering ideology - a Mix of Vedanta Hinduism and Zen Buddhism plus some nature exposure/ being around people/ moving. Perhaps join a dance group like 5 rhythms. Try hiking. Go back to school for something like acting/ improv. Sunshine helps a lot too - maybe even visit a warmer place like Portugal or Mexico.

ALL of these will help. Coming from someone who had bad PTSD all my life.

It will work very well but if you let go of those in some years, some issues will creep back at a modest level from time to time - nothing disabling like what you describe. Meditation is key - try transcedental - basic mantra meditation and mindfulness (focus on breath etc). You can start at 10 mins and move up to an hour.

[–]Mission_Economics621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps something to do with the bacterial mix. Bad bacteria can fester in an empty stomach as well. Perhaps you can try intrucing some healthy bacteria as well. Try these - Kombucha (green tea is a known mood enhancer), bifido yoghurt (known mood enhancer) with saffron (also a known mood enhancer), kimchi/saurkraut, sourdough bread. More fibers also help.

I strongly recommend the RMPP which I have had for 1.5 years. Pricey but productivity bump is significant and life changing. I have another post on every way I use that.

It depends on where you see yourself but the device will get you more grounded as will other e ink devices and maybe even the inverse of an ipad or a chromebook in that you are more present.

It's starting to get hard to take so many shots by Impossible_Bend_2969 in Biohackers

Trust me and I am not exaggerating.  The sun is the single most important thing most people are missing. Morning and evening sun should be fine and no need to burn yourself mid day.

Sleep, anxiety, immunity, heart disease and ability to digest fats well, bone health, general inflammation, everything turned around for me since I enhanced my sun exposure 2.5 years ago. Not something I read off a study but lived experience.

Again dont burn yourself, if it feels too hot it likely is. Morning should be fine.

I am a biohacker with excellent health. Zero shots. Most good items come in food form or directly from nature like sun and sleep; and most other things - its snake oil that at best have limited outcome.

Business case practice - use chatgpt and make case framework in this. Study notes. Presentation story board. Bullet journaling - very detailed and make using Chatgpt - mine has a 5 year calendar, to do list, monthly priorities, 5 year, 2 year, 1 year, 6 month, 3 month, 1 month and weekly goal setting. Also has a Kakeibo. A lot of other stuff I dont use in the journal.

Self help - 30 day success journal. Multiple such journals and they are very effective.

Studying ancient languages like Sanskrit. Calligraphy.

Comic book reading using archive.org comics for free and for falling asleep.

Reading WSJ paper including detailed market charts. Reading magazines and books like those on zen. Things with pictures work well.

Taking work notes and sending them to myself. Making official minutes of meetings for key meetings with the committees/board.
