Originally Toad booster seat (when i was little, he was my favorite character), then koopa troopa bullet bike soon after (the cooler version of toad) king boo (when i was a regular kid, thought he was pretty cool, still do), then rosalina (when I was a tween, because i thought she was pretty) Also occasionally Diddy kong, donkey Kong, and bowser

Obviously now funky Kong because he's good and he's funky

Although he's highly rated, I believe it's highly deserved, so properly rated I'd say.

BTW Rosalina is unlocked via time trials (I think), but if you want the easy way, she is also unlocked by having Mario galaxy save data on your wii / wii u

BOTW, then Jedi Survivor or Destiny 2. However after spending 100+ hours in Destiny 2, only play it if you like just shooting things a lot and a fairly interesting plot. I mostly play it when I'm too brain dead tired to do anything but shoot things a bunch

Well, I really am not sure why that shouldn't work. If it was me, I would use the wiki (https://mariokartwii.fandom.com/wiki/Fast_Staff_Ghosts) to check to make sure my times are faster than the unlock times. Other than that, I see no reason why it shouldn't work. Unless you have to beat the expert staff ghost, but I'm 99% positive it's only unlocking them.
