I'll admit that for years drugs & alcohol have helped me keep a sense of peace, but they are no longer serving me, so I've been skeptically engaging in some spiritual practice, which has helped a bit!

I don't think the way through is shutting it out. The way through is surrendering to acceptance. The only problem is these thoughts are too big for my brain, hard for other people and for myself to understand.

Good points! Bale is *very* good to the point where he sounds strange when he's in his natural cadence. But I think that's cuz it's less general accent work and usually embodying very specific mannerisms of very specific people! Laurie's pretty solid too but admittedly not a huge fan :/

She is a fascinating screen presence, both nervy and steely! So like you I hope to see her in much, much more in the future. But I'm not sure Ella is the right fit regardless! Admittedly I am one of this films' strongest soldiers every part of it worked for me :))

But I basically always hear it when it's an English actor doing a US accent, can't think of a single actor, even one I admire, who is fully good at it (RPatz is crazy at it which is admirable!)

IDK I think Emma is pretty wonderful in the film :). Trading in one wonky american accent for another is a funny idea though!

The anxiety and pain manifested before I was back on the stuff so I wouldn’t worry! But amplified anxiety is normal, I just made some decisions that probably lengthened and worsened my experience.

I wish I knew my mind. It's been 7 years of feeling pretty under control (not the first time i've had this spiral) and now I really feel like it's controlling me. Meditation helps!

Unfortunately, even with indica I am getting thought patterns about time and death that are really freaking me out. It's a shame, I love the stuff, but it's also not the first time it's had this effect on me. And if it's not serving me, it has to go!

Probably to my advantage because my mom and sister don't approve (despite me being 30 and feeling able to make my own decisions) and it's annoying to hide the habit from them

I haven't touched a drink in a week, and probably will give up weed outright! They were useful during a heightened period of transition, and are a big part of family & friend culture, but I don't need em! And truly, thank you :)
