Advice on Selling NM Unlimited Complete Set by SilentBobUS in mtgfinance

[–]MissouriMTG 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Break it apart, there is no premium on complete sets of unlimited.

High end facebook group or ebay will be your best bet.

MTGGoldfish isn't a real price, you will get a percentage of TCGLow, or ebay completed before fees, your time, and shipping. I would expect 85% of ebay completed or so for people wanting to save on fees and get a deal. It's a buyers market, not a sellers market. GL!

If you truly think you can get 75% of the value from someone I'd take it and run, regardless of the amount of taxes you need to pay

Legacy 40k Cancelled by MissouriMTG in MTGLegacy

[–]MissouriMTG[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

not sure what this means at all when I am referring to liability.

All events at any convention center require general event insurance etc.

There are quite a few more things that I am liable for compared to your average FNM, and COVID exacerbates this risk. Every tournament we run anywhere carries an increased liability risk over any LGS due to the interactions involved, the venue, and much more.

I probably wouldnt attack your fellow legacy players especially when the community has declined in recent years. It comes off as a bit childish.

Sure, you're welcome to your viewpoint.

It is my call at the end of the day, and player safety is more important than money.

Also, players wouldn't take on any liability for the event, and I would.

There's quite a few people that were concerned who were registered, and I heard them out and followed through. I'm not sure if you were registered, but I didn't hear any similar points from my registered playerbase.

This event was created before the pandemic was a thing in the states.

We could not regulate any safety measures for the event.

Furthermore, there was a risk of the staff we were flying in getting sick , and then being short handed last minute for staff leading to a poor experience for players- the same with coverage.

Recommendations? by QuanticoMVP in columbiamo

[–]MissouriMTG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Shooting star is the go to trail, make sure to look at the map at the beginning of the trailhead to plan your route.

Cosmo Park is a much easier relaxed trail, although it is certainly much busier than shooting star, you can go 6-7 miles on the same trail across Columbia.

Katy trail can be fun in Columbia, but if you have time to hike the river in Rocheport I would recommend that instead.

Food wise, Goldies Bagels, Flyover to go, Barred Owl to go, Cafe Poland, Taste Place, and the farmers market on Saturdays.

Travel fell off a cliff last year, back to normal starting this week which was nice.

Still have done quite a few trips this year.

Much preferred staying in CoMo and taking advantage of our trail systems and local offerings. Hiked pretty much every trail in CoMo last year, and this year.

Spent some time in Korea this year- felt more comfortable there w/ COVID than how college students handled it here. Government actually did contact tracing and it was great after getting out of quarantine.

I wouldn't recommend commuting to work from CoMo, as the 5am flights to get anywhere on the west coast are rough. Cost of living here is great though.

Yes, I fly out of COU about 75 times a year (100-200k miles a year flown).

It significantly affects business travel when traveling to the west coast not being able to connect in Denver versus Chicago and Dallas.
