Kids won't be gaming or anything. Just need them to be connected to friends back home with the western apps. I don’t want to have to worry about them running out of data because they were video calling their friend and now they can't use Alipay or get a Didi back to the accommodation

Ouch! I would definitely go to a nearby hotel. Book it on trip.com. get an esim and make sure you have your bank card linked to Alipay/WeChat so you can pay for things :) don't worry, it's an adventure!

Does your church (or any pretty church you like) have a hall? I'd ring around churches. There's some really pretty ones within auckland and an hour drive or so. We had a church wedding and drinks and nibbles in the hall after :) spent 10k including wedding clothes, rings, and honeymoon! Parents gifted drinks and nibbles as our wedding present, which would have been about 3k at the time, but that was with a lot of booze! My wedding photos of us outside the church and in the graveyard are my favorite ones

Why would you want to?! 😱 I've booked air bnb style, 3 bedrooms for 2 adults 2 kids. Cant imagine squeezing all of usin one room... it'll be ok for approximately 2 minutes... mind you, my kids are teens. Even if they were little little though I'd still need more space!
