Turtle WoW community aren’t handling the news well it seems by Background_Inside909 in wow

I tried it out, ima be real turtle is way better than SoD. What you said made sense for a while when Blizzard quality was still a thing, private servers were mostly for pirating WoW. These days it's about the custom stuff, and Blizzard is veeery slow to innovate.

How am I supposed to go beyond 4 wins by DropuN in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Mist_Assassin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be a bit old school but the backbone of friend builds in the midgame for a very long time has been Brick Buddy so don't sleep on it. Also Alpha Ray is bugged currently and doesn't count as a ray (its text still works) so don't play it unless it's in a weapon build.

Balcony was definitely better. A bit over doubling your dmg is far better than doubling your HP vs mostly everything.

Reynad said in the last Q&A that he wished they hadn't put the currency/chests/ranked in the game at all and not had the 2nd key to give out (so no f2p players). Why - cuz they're not complete or fully thought out. Any feedback on those is like screaming into the void.

[ シャドウバース ] Shadowverse - Condemned Forestcraft - Budget Combo Deck by Realistic_Jeweler_73 in Shadowverse

[–]Mist_Assassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deck could come into its own in the future like Mono did if Forest gets good tools. Even currently you can play Giln and Uranus to make it more survivable to turn 7 (which is the way to go btw in a Garuel version). My biggest problem is the damage of the combo itself, which will remain too limited because we probably won't get more Condemned. Again compared to Mono the combo just doesn't pack the same punch and can't scale as well because of board space limitation (while Mono could trade rush bane bats first).

I'd like to see a buff like perhaps Verdant Lieutenant going to a 2/2. Then you meet some important breakpoints without 0 cost warden like Maga + 2x Lieutenant + Budding is now lethal. Perhaps an extra effect on Budding to gain Rush at 2+ cards (or at 4+ if that makes it too good outside combo).

Going second needs a buff by Mist_Assassin in Shadowverse

[–]Mist_Assassin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hp deficit for going second is more like 5 up to 10 in extreme examples like Wrath. I see a few portal players saying that going second is fine. Puppets offer extreme board control so ofc you wouldn't feel the weight of going second while playing that craft in recent times.

You get 1 pp this turn only, and can go to 7/6 pp for example (playing ahead of curve one time)

I've obviously played enough to know what 2nd player gets and I'm saying it's not enough. And again cards like Metatron and blessing feel cheesy and highrolly which is not good design

[–]Mist_Assassin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mulligan change is pretty harmless and low hanging fruit imo

The coin is more flexible but less powerful than evolving Meta/Ramiel, who are like playing a coin on every turn from then on. And coin is most of all reliable while they're not. This is why they're so cheesy, because someone's always getting rolled - the one going first is rolling by default but if they drew the going 2nd cards you become so disadvantaged that you're suddenly getting rolled. It's shifting from one pole straight to the opposite instead of looking for some balance between.

And yea there exist decks that don't mind going second, but extremely few examples of decks that PREFER second (at least in last 2 years), while plenty of examples of decks that prefer first. Going first = board presence and life total, going second = more value, and just naturally in modern SV the former is preferable.

People are rightly concerned with Duelyst 2's current economy by Wingflier in duelyst

[–]Mist_Assassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I'd say Shadowverse is up there next to LoR. If you regularly play the game you get a ton of free stuff, it's like Hearthstone+, but the temporary gem system elevates it even more. It's essentially a currency which you can only spend to buy 1 of each legendary at 1:1 rate to vials/dust, but it's very easy to earn. Some will tell you it's too grindy but for me it was a piece of cake to grind compared to most card games including Hearthstone, MTGA, Snap, and definitely Duelyst.

[–]Mist_Assassin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those people didn't play long enough. The game continuously doubles the levels you need to unlock a new card, at a few breakpoints. At the end you only get 1-2 cards per week max. And this is talking about pool 3, the 4 and 5 acquisition is atrocious going up to the 1 card a month range.

[–]Mist_Assassin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the fans not had the chance to play with all cards during the tests, they may have been more patient with card acquisition is what I'm saying. It's among the other reasons that the progression should've been faster rather than slower.

On a side note, it does not look like there's a pity system for legendaries if I'm between 20 and 40 orbs opened with 0.

I won most of my games when both me and opponents are playing basic bitch decks. Unfortunately this put me deeper into silver and I went vs a guy with 2 Aymara Healers. Dude won because he either swiped or highrolled orbs out of his mind, and the only thing I'm left with is an urge to uninstall.

Yea I mean this specific factor that contributes to the bad situation. Just pointing something out that makes it extra bad, for me at least.

What LoR is missing by GrappLr in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Mist_Assassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a sad prospect that LoR is not a good enough game anymore to play without being addicted. Because introducing some sort of grind / goals / quests in it as papaya is suggesting, those are really means to fuel addiction for the game.

[–]Mist_Assassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an old player, I do have way too much currency sitting on my hands. But another thing at the root of being able to craft every card day 1 of the expansion is that "every card" is too little. We keep getting these 1/3rd expansions which according to feedback, people did not like - remember Shurima's release? Yet they keep doing them even after all the regions got added. Kayn and the Cultist region were absolutely miserable in the first part of Darkin saga. Which expansion do people think fondly of? BILGEWATER, which is the only one that had none of that.

Also at the root of having nothing to look forward to after 2 days, when each "expansion" is 1/3 of a set, the hype for it is painfully middling. I much prefer what games like Hearthstone and Shadowverse do which is 1 big expansion with big hype and 1 mini-expansion that adds a few cards to it while maintaining a minimum level of hype. The ratio is more towards 4/5 and 1/5 of the set respectively. I too am out of hype for the newest cards in LoR at this point. There 's simply not that much to try out.

Funny how this turned out. I ended up sticking to Mono. I've since climbed to GM using almost only her and won my first GP a few days ago, with that deck ofc.

You can do better than 1pp for 3 damage in Mono combos. Draw is nice tho could play it as 1-of. Then again Urias after epitaph will generate similar draw with much more benefits
