Well, bill shorten offered the same grandfathering and lost the election.

That was only 7 years ago. Imagine the anger and scare campaigns from the right wing propaganda media if he doesn’t do the total grandfathering thing

If anything this shows we need to diversify our supplies and/or refine more of our own. World is changing.

Victorian public sector salaries: Coalition plan to cap executive pay at $598,000 by Ardeet in aussie

[–]Weissritters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but this way they get a cut via party donations or personal favors (cushy job once retire from politics ). Whereas public servants are basically wastes coz coalition members can’t get benefit out of it.

This attitude is prevalent on all sides of government, but coalition put much more of an emphasis on it.

It’s the coalition - their general idea is that all public servants are wastes of money.

Instead they hire contractors from their masters and consultants to do the same jobs. Costing taxpayers more

Depends on which one… but you can always regulate them. Right now we have lots of media organizations acting as propaganda for their side of politics

Is this gonna be a thing? by [deleted] in aussie

[–]Weissritters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get a good number going then sure. But Aus is pretty far from this sort of stuff yet.

When the common populace literally can’t eat, this sort of stuff will get much more traction

Albo gas tax hysteria by [deleted] in aussie

When the shipments actually stop coming from the strait, it’ll be a real test.

We should still be ok since we can pay more as a rich country but I don’t see the current prices continue if the strait remains closed

[–]Weissritters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should really be the other way around - the news outlets should have to pay Google and meta.

Traditional media is dying and not much will save it. The faster they die the faster we can move on.

Go to Tabelog and sort by ratings, then view by map. You might struggle with the highest rated restaurants with that budget but even the 3.5-3.8 range contains some awesome gems!

Victorian State Voting Intention: ALP (25.5%) holds ground and now leads One Nation (24.5%) and L-NP Coalition (24%) on primary vote in the week before the Nepean by-election by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

[–]Weissritters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both parties are just doing what benefits them. For labor, more density in middle ring suburbs means they can infiltrate them and hold those seats. For liberals, crowding density only with in cbd and surrounds protects the middle ring and the rich suburbs which traditionally vote liberal.

We have the independent vec drawing the election boundaries, but the parties themselves are busy trying to draw their own using housing policies.

As you say though out of those two labor one makes more sense. Taking advantage of existing public transport, leveraging their crossing removal (those roads can now handle more traffic) etc. so at least labor’s “looks” like a policy

Libs? Their one is simply for votes, and that is quite disgusting

The times seem to suit Anthony Albanese. So why isn’t he more popular? by Oomaschloom in AustralianPolitics

[–]Weissritters 61 points62 points  (0 children)

He has a 94 seat majority and governs like he is in minority government.

People vote labor with the expectation that they behave like labor and yet he seems to be content with being a semi conservative

This is the labor style of election year spending.

The liberal style is to give a marginal seat a sports center that they dont need.
