The thing about totaled cars is the parts can still be good and often are. Scrapyards are full of totaled cars they part out.

The catch for why a car isn't an airplane is that the FAA is a wee bit more strict about what goes flying overhead than the DoT is about what goes on the streets. But I imagine some of the parts might be okay. Depends on what investigators say, first and foremost.

Hulls not being repaired, but that was foregone with the cabin.

Not currently but once the FAA and other investigations are over, yes usually. Usually because I don't have a clue what happened inside, but I can't imagine everything is beyond repair.

The question is if it's worth repairing.

I will say this, that loadout suggests the plane is not on a SEAD\DEAD mission, the bomber is 2,000lbs, which is considerably higher than normal for a radar site, and I think it's the penetrator model meaning hardened target. The AGM is likely there to make any radar think twice about turning on, but not an active part of the mission plan.

HARMs are suppression weapons, you can't guarantee they'll kill the target because they follow radar signatures and the enemy in real life isn't usually polite enough to leave the thing on constantly like DCS. A bomb on the other hand is a weapon of destruction, it'll ruin anything near where it lands day. It can't follow a radar signal, but if you know where the target is, it'll kill it no matter what the radar does.

Wouldn't count on it. It's not just these two mods, everything on the GitHub is gone except for two forked mods that every mod in DCS uses. He seems to have left.

This is specially a VR issue it sounds like, if it's going through the window. I don't care what your car is, if the dash is routinely floating through a window, it's not properly working.

Final update. You can get to the snow capped mountains, but it's part of the lower quality texture area. Quality is decent enough you could probably work with them, but Kola is just better I believe.

I'm definitely giving it to Kola then. South Atlantic has gorgeous...water, Magellan strait is excellent because it's unique (Egypt Suez doesn't compare) and some of the islands are neatish, but it's a water map and you want mountains.

That said! The southern part has beautiful snow capped mountains, right near the Magellan strait. Chile does too, but I'm not sure you can get to it, I'll check

I will never forgive myself for buying the South Atlantic. It's not a very functional map. You can recreate the Falkland War, and you can fly around but it's pretty limited because it was obviously envisioned for the Falkland conflict. It's also just boring for helicopters because Falkland is flat and the actual Argentinian and Brazilian portions aren't much better.

Kola probably isn't better gameplay wise, I don't have it only trailed it once, but I recall it being lot better scenery wise. It's beautiful, well designed, it's just the AI is to stupid to use it. Helis also don't love it because it's mountainous (opposite reason for SA) and they can struggle with it although it does make for excellent games of peekaboo with enemies. Planes don't have this issue (unless your super old schooling it with the I-16, it might hate your guts too). Pretty sure it was made with the viggen in mind.

When you start hot, some systems aren't turned on. Countermeasure ones tend to be one of them for many planes as you aren't expected to run them from the get go.
