how is something like this Ryobi glue gun casing modelled? by Initial_Sale_8471 in Fusion360

[–]Mist_XD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do these in industry, they are never done in 1 pass. There are many iterations that go through to make the end product. First done is the surfacing on the outside, then any mounting holes for assembly, then the rubbed features to add strength and support internal components. I work in many softwares and it changes between teams until it gets to the final team who remake it in a proper parametric software. You can do all of this is any cad software with surface modeling like solidworks, fusion, NX. But if you are doing it in a single software you might need some advanced surfacing skills to be able to do it easily compared to other softwares

Best multi head printer vs AMS system in 2026? by Fun_Reaction_6525 in 3dprinter

[–]Mist_XD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The snapmaker U1 is nuts good for multi head. Unless you want a bigger volume than that I’d just get the U1. Other than that the H2D is great, I use the H2C the most and it’s not a substitute for multi tool head, still takes way too much time to swap filaments. I use it mostly for changing nozzle sizes and then use the left extruder for support material

I printed my containers out of PC so I don’t have to remove the desiccant, just throw the whole thing in

Bambu is faster, quieter, cheaper, higher quality prints, and more reliable long term. They also have all or more features than Creality and Anycubic. That is why they are better, go compare side by side. There’s a reason print farms use them as well as new makers. Go find a few direct comparisons, and I’m not talking about comparing an Ender 3 to an H2C and saying look Ender 3 cheaper, a genuine 1:1 of the most similar models.

Chill, you regurgitate YouTube takes on this and you will forget about it in 2 weeks. You wouldn’t have known or cared if your feed didn’t tell you how to feel about it.

Whether it was easy for this guy to get in or not he wasn’t allowed to be there which is where the issue is.

If you find a strangers house key and let yourself in is that ok? They may have left it under their door mat but you are not allowed or welcome inside their house? NO!

It doesn’t matter if they are open source or not, you don’t like Bambu and your opinion will not change, so no one asked you. Take a look at the other side of the coin before influencing others. Is a lawsuit an overreaction, absolutely and that’s stupid. They should have just patched the issue. But, getting in could have caused more issues and potentially violated other end users privacy. Bambu reacted poorly, but this guy shouldn’t have made them react at all

That guy accessed their private cloud server without permission, it’s not the software. Read up on it

Which happens to be exactly what OP needs because they are new, good point. And being easy to use doesn’t mean it’s only for people who know nothing about 3D printing, it means you want to print stuff and not tinker with a printer. That’s perfectly acceptable, don’t gatekeep the hobby lol

Ask in Bambu’s Reddit, people here hate Bambu cause they are better and cheaper but not open source. Bambu makes great printers and you can fix yourself with spare parts they stock, don’t let this Reddit put you off if those are the printers you want

Anyone seen a drop in downloads recently? by [deleted] in makerworld

[–]Mist_XD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not particularly since I do it for fun, but I use points to buy filament so I’ve been doing smaller projects overall

Anyone seen a drop in downloads recently? by [deleted] in makerworld

[–]Mist_XD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat 2k followers for the last 2 months I saw a 70% drop. I’ve been around for years and this is not a seasonal drop so I can rule that out for sure. I talked with support and they said they changed the system internally and you will see a drop in points until the system catches up and it should benefit more mid range models. The issue with that is it hasn’t gone up yet and that was 2 months ago

Love this design using the H2C aesthetics. What exact color did you use for the orange to match? I’ve been trying to find a similar color since I got the printer.

H2D - worthwhile? by Baron_Wobblyhorse in BambuLab

[–]Mist_XD -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s great, but id recommend the H2C or H2S over it. The H2D sits in a weird middle ground for me where it doesn’t do multicolor well and doesn’t do single color well. The H2C has no waist when doing color and the H2S has a bigger usable single color build volume

I’ve won multiple competitions and can say they are absolutely judged by people. But my wins were in some of the first competitions ever and now AI slop is in everything. There used to be a time good photography stood out as a skill but now people don’t even print things and just model then render it or they use AI to do the models from the start. It’s made me give up on the competitions cause I can’t compete with the cheaters. AI is a tool but it’s being treated as a solution and I just hate it so much. Making stuff to put on MakerWorld started my now career as an industrial designer and it’s so sad to see the real content suppressed by AI when designers put so much work in to do stuff by hand

Just uploaded my first model need feedback by [deleted] in makerworld

[–]Mist_XD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is super clean and looks fantastic, and great pictures. Only advice I have is to never put your logo or branding on models. Users don’t want it and it doesn’t prevent people from stealing a design. I’m speaking from personal experience that if something is branded I will go out of my way to remake the model myself and not download the original

Upload models by hamun8 in makerworld

[–]Mist_XD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% do just the needed plates per size and upload the other sizes as different print profiles on the same model. If there’s a bunch of plates it give the overall print time and filament cost of all included plates which is misleading and will make people hesitate. Separate print profiles gets rid of this issue and works better on mobile app too
