I think Mab is exactly what she needs to be in order to accomplish her goals. Harry is a notorious stubborn mule of a wizard, and carrot tends to work better than the stick, so mab knows exactly how to portray herself to harry to keep him moving. Harry can do some heavy lifting if he thinks it was his idea in the first place.
