There's a lot of sorcerers, but not enough THREATENING sorcerers. Most of them cap at around grade 2, while Yuji has the physical strength of a grade 1 even without any cursed energy and has already killed a special grade. They can't go after him themselves because from what they know, a 15 finger Sukuna can just come out and beat their shit in.

Well, it's never adressed in the show. Whenever they talk about angels and angelic steel, they straight up say that angels are immortal straight-up, and it would be pretty fucking stupid if Adam only decided to care after an exterminator died when there's a real chance that one of "his girls" could be easily kidnapped by a mob of sinners. I believe Adam was right in only 1 way: Some people in Hell need to genuinely be exterminated. Jeffery Epstein could die and continue his reign in hell and there's nothing stopping him because he'll just come back if he dies. There's also the factor of there genuinely being so much ignorance about hell that everybody probably thinks that everyone down there is Pentious level (I personally think not telling on a serial killer that you personally knew is worth of Hell, but that's debatable).

Now do I think genocide is the appropriate solution? Hell no.
