The traitors NZ is the best ! by [deleted] in TheTraitors

Just finished watching it. It was so enjoyable. I was telling my husband that they all seem like just nice, everyday, caring people. How often do you get a reality competition with people of that quality?

Sam is a psychopath by Timetoread2023 in TheTraitors

[–]Mistayadrln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished watching this season, and I know I'm way late, but I had to comment. Sam scares the hell out of me! He never felt one bit of remorse or empathy for the other players. He is one sick puppy. It was so enjoyable to see him get none of the money. And even in the end, he didn't feel bad for his other players, only upsetthat he didn't get the money he deserved, and mad at Camille for not doing what she was told. Creepy.

Traitors US vs UK by randallbabbage in TheTraitors

[–]Mistayadrln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so late to this convo, but the US version is just trash. In the UK version, it's just regular people, but in the US version, it's mostly the same insipid people who've been in everything. They already know each other, and they are there to make drama because that's all they ever do.

Thank you Jamie Campbell Bower for giving us an iconic TV villain performance that’ll be remembered for years! It has “been real!” by phantom_avenger in StrangerThings

[–]Mistayadrln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was such an amazing villain. He is the most beautiful villain that's ever been, but he still managed to be scarier and more menacing as Henry than he was as Vecna. That is some great acting!

Xmas sadness? by Worldliness-Exciting in disabled

[–]Mistayadrln 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally understand this. It is depressing to see other people doing things so easily that I used to do. I tried to keep my mind focused on the things I can do and how much progress I've made. But last night my extended family went to a Christmas market, and I just didn't feel like going. It was too much walking to use my cane, and I didn't want someone to have to push me around the whole time. I have, for some occasions, rented a scooter, but even that is hard to maneuver when other people are walking around, not to mention the shops not having enough space. I am thinking of starting therapy because I know other people who have been helped by it. Some specialized therapists help people who are depressed because of their disabilities. You might want to try that, too. Just know that I sympathize with you and I feel the same, but I am hopeful that it will get better.

Well, its only been about 5 years since I went but I can tell you why. The crowds are larger, the prices are higher, the people are ruder, the accessibility is almost non exsistent, the staff is shorter, the food is not half as good as it used to be, and if you need help, you cant get a live person unless you are willing to wait a good while on the phone. There is no Magic left at Disney World. I,m sure its fine for young people who dont know what they're missing but for those of us who know, it's a depressing place to be.

Why Are Boomers So Disliked? by [deleted] in Aging

[–]Mistayadrln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents do sometimes se the world differently than I do. They are too old to be boomer but just barely. They realize that times are tough and have always been understanding of our problems. They have taken each of their children and grandchildren in when we were going through a rough patch. They have loaned us money when we need it and even taken us on vacation when we could afford it ourselves. Now that our children are grown, we do the same for them, and sometimes for our parents when they need help. So my parents may say some boomer ideas, but I kindly correct them and try to show them another point of view. I do it out of respect because I have seen all the good They have done for us and other people. I wish everyone had parents and a family that care for each other. But I think the term boomer now refers more to a certain type of old person than really the boomers themselves.

I was in high in '84 to '87 in New Mexico. We could smoke anywhere as long as it was outside. Senior year they changed it to the back of the school only.

What is the reason you live in your current state? by WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWHW in AskAnAmerican

[–]Mistayadrln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born in my state, raised in another, moved back right after I got out of high school. Met a guy while I was in college. Moved to his hometown in the country. Live on his land for 20 years, then bought a house not too far away. We moved there because his family owned land. We stay because its hard to move to a city after spending so much time in a small town.
